“Pretty much a massive disaster hit Texas....Not going to lie, it hasn’t been easy for a lot of folks. Our power grid had vulnerabilities. Our water plant went without power to clean our water.
However, while news will make people believe that Texans were helpless....this lifelong Texan sees a totally different narrative. I see people helping one another, I see generators, fuel being given, firewood being deployed by residents - not government. I see people opening homes and businesses as shelters, to pets and all. I see an army of four wheel drive vehicles pulling folks out of ditches, delivering meals, etc. I could go on.
You know what I don’t see?
Mass Looting.
Criticize and laugh all you want, but never doubt the resolve, generosity, and the preparedness of the Texans! We overcoming TOGETHER! ❤️”

Naturally I get asked about every news story about Texas. I've gotten used to it in my time up here.
My response has been the same the last couple days. Same as it was after Harvey.

Texans will take care of each other. That's what we do.

Saw a lot of good. Also saw a lot of bad. I went to home depot yesterday and they were only letting a few people in at a time because massive brawls were breaking out in the plumbing section. The veneer of civilization is thin.

Sorry me mentioning reality rained on your parade. Like I said, I saw a lot of good as well... I understand the desire to shine a light on that. It's a worthy cause, there are a whole bunch of awesome people in Texas.

There are True Texans and then there are people who happen to live in Texas. Learn the difference.
