So far as I can tell no outages here in Houston yet. One of my furnaces is down, but have two others working. Ground has about 1/4" of ice on it with about 1" of snow on top of that. 14 degrees. Nasty.

This is the only week of my life that I’d rather live in Houston.

lol, I live in the middle of nowhere, nearest neighbor is about a mile away and have had 8 disruptions so far.
doesn't take long for a metal bldg to get cold either, furnaces are playing catch up best they can.

It was 10 degrees here in San Antonio and now warmed up to 11* and we have had two power outages since around 5:30 that lasted about 30 minutes each. Woke up to 3" of snow on the ground! You guys up north need to come get your weather back!
Just one more cast!

People need their elecrric cars charged and their heat at 70 plus. Therefore we all get to suffer. I work from home and can't even work now.

Cant you run a really long extension cord from the Squaw cooling towers to your home. That’s like 790000000 giggawatts right there.
PS plug it into a GFCI. Always thought it was odd that none of the towns local to the plant gets power from the plant, in fact even the plant gets it's power from TNMP.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) entered emergency conditions and initiated rotating outages at 1:25 a.m. today. About 10,500 MW of customer load was shed at the highest point. This is enough power to serve approximately two million homes.
Extreme weather conditions caused many generating units – across fuel types – to trip offline and become unavailable.
There is now over 30,000 MW of generation forced off the system.
“Every grid operator and every electric company is fighting to restore power right now,” said ERCOT President and CEO Bill Magness. Rotating outages will likely last throughout the morning and could be initiated until this weather emergency ends.

Had 5 outages last night into this morning.
Fingers crossed it doesn’t happen for a while, pool is almost completely frozen over so if pump stops running for any length of time it might be done for.
I know that’s BS to worry about something like that when others have real struggles during this time.
If anyone needs some help around the Celina area I’d be glad to lend a hand.
