I can't help you with a cheap rod to throw 10XD's on but I lived in Panola Co. for many years. Lived on FM 959 one mile from the Sabine River.

Castaway croaker smoker.. Is the same action as the old launcher.. Bright green but kicks butt..
Buy it from the castaway store and prob save a few bucks. 99 at academy, got two for 75 each when i crushed my launcher. Called the factory and the service tech said the smoaker was the same. Guaranteed me my money back.. get the longest rod you can find..

Abu Veritas Winch. Will get the job done. Have seen people complain about the guides but never had an issue with mine. You don’t need an expensive rod for cranking. Just get one that loads right.

I've spent a lot of time on the Sabine River and have a childhood friend that lives on 959. I went elementary school in Tatum, but now I live in the big city. very much small world Coal Hauler +1 for that BPS crankin stick.

FXtreme 7ft 8inch cranking rod. Great rod for a 10XD
I use it with a Lews Super Duty wide spool 5-1 gear ratio.

I love my Dobyns, but for budget cranking sticks I have been happy with the couple of Enigmas I have. The Atomic 29 and the HPT.
