I never found water over 58 this weekend. Spent time at both ends of lake too. Didn't spend any time at mid-lake (which is closer to discharge) so maybe the 60+ is there.

A lot of effort (including finding a parking spot) and few fish to show for it. Jockeyed for position with armada at the north end. Saw a few fish caught but they were all small. On a positive note, there's plenty of grass to fish if you're into that and the ramp is much improved. Loading/unloading is much easier with the rise in water.

It's full pool from what I've been told. Water going over spillway pipe.

If the plant is not running and the water temp is in the 50’s, why is it so crowded? Why not just go to Sandlin or somewhere where it’s not as crowded?

If temps are hovering around 60-ish then it is warmer than most cold water lakes. Plus it has lots grass, but it is not the hot water lake it was just a few years ago,

is there a day during the week when the lake is less crowded? Noneday! (Sorry, I would try Wednesday. But I do remember the good old days on Monti - if you hung around SUNDAYs until the last couple hours 4 pm - 6 pm the lake would get eerily quiet in terms of boat traffic and the fish would turn on.)

Fished welsh yesterday. Slow by welsh standards but caught 12 with six of them being over four pounds. Saw some males on beds but they were small. Ripping baits from the grass was the ticket. Still not pushing any hot water. In November and early December they were pushing hot water and the Numbers and size was awesome. I have not been there when they were pushing hot water in later December or all of January.

Fished this week , they had the plant running from about 6 am to 8:30 am ish. Caught em lights out . Couldn’t tell u how many we caught ...... a lot. Then after the plant shut off , we struggled all day for maybe 3-4 bites. Pretty rough once’s the cut the current off. The pipe from pines was working , they usually keep it running when. The lake isn’t full pool. But right now it prolly over full pool.
