They should. The WON BASS U.S. Open is the pinnacle of bass battle in the West, a storied tournament with a history that reaches back to 1981. Held every October on Lake Mead. I would say that history is on their side in spite of Johnny's $$$. Now if Johnny changed the name to the "Johnny Morris/White River Marine U.S. INVITATIONAL, that might be OK...

That’s a Democrat tactic.....name it something other than what it is. It’s definitely not a Open when you limit it to certain boat brands. It should be an Invitational. I hate people that use the name it 180 degrees from what it is tactic. Ranger just cut a bunch of their pro deals and left those guys scrambling for another bait deal.

Prize money is nice.

Looks like Johnny is trying to revamp how bait deals work for the pros. Make them pay more of their boat. How long will it be before he buys out either Phoenix or Skeeter?

Most of the Ranger guys left for better boat deals from other manufacturers. Ranger didn't force them to leave.

if you are putting on a tournament that gives away a million dollars you should be able to call it whatever you want .

All opens have rules on what boats can compete. Try bringing a flat bottom jet or a cigarette top gun to an open. Its still an open, open means the individual not the equipment.

This thread sounds like a bunch kids crying because they weren’t invited to the party. Do you guys complain about everything?

You guys need some time on the water. Who cares what he calls it. It's a tournament for people who buy his boats. Most of the major brands have tournaments for their owners. If he would have called it the WRMG Owner's Tournament, would you still be complaining? What you are really pissing and moaning about is a name you don't like, because the fact that it is an owner's tournament is clearly defined in the advertising.

As a US citizen I'm suing Won Bass, the US Open golf tournament (both men's and women's tours), the US Open tennis tournament (both men's and wonens's tours) and JM... Who do they think they are hijacking "US" initials so they an make a buck. After I win my lawsuit I'll be on easy street... Dan cheers

Yes it does. So how does everyone feel about Rather Outdoors? Read an article that they are going after Zebco/Quantum. That company is becoming a giant in tackle through acquisition just like JM has with the Marine industry.
