I have a like new battery (2 months old) in my vehicle.

This morning, I drove and started the truck several times, no problemo. I did not use it again until late this afternoon.

When I turned on the key, nothing. No starter, no dash lights. I turned on the headlights.....nothing.

I got out the battery charger and checked the battery, it was "FULL" and would not accept any more juice.

Hooked the cables back up, same thing....no lights, no dash lights, nothing. No power window, no interior light...nothing works.

I am too tired to mess with it tonight, but would appreciate any suggestions as to what I should try tomorrow.

Thank you,

Chuckwagon

Try a different battery even though it says its fully charged it still can be a bad battery. If it turns out the battery is good then check/replace the battery cables and connections since your not getting anything at all.

Or a bad cell. A bad cell will have 12-13 volts but VERY LITTLE current output

Also could be cables, check the ground, frame ground and hot to starter/ fuse box.

Sounds like a ground is missing to me...

Check the batt cables and make sure the ground is not only connected to the battery but to the motor.

Make sure you do not have a corroded batt cable... sometimes they will corrode inside the casing and you can not see how bad it is. You can get a cheap batt cable for 6.00 at wally world or autozone just to make sure.

the fuse block is located under the instrument panel to the left of the steering column.

Chuck,

I'm betting you have a bad set of starter brushes. Quick way to tell is tap on the back side of the starter housing with a hammer , not hard, just enough for the brushes to make good contact to the armature. If she cranks, replace the starter. Brushes are worned down and not making good contact.

That wouldnt work. You have to get some kind of fire to the starter to test that. Hes not getting anything at all: no lights, no dash lights, nothing. No power window, no interior light...nothing

It was a fusible link burned out in the battery cable. It looked perfectly ok, but no juice was going through it. I replaced it and it works great!

Chucw.: be sure you replace that f.link with a gauge 4 gauges smaller than the wire circuit your protecting! And make sure it is fusible link wire. If you dont and that reason the link blew develops again your gonna find out why you should have. Links dont blow for no reason. Please check that wiring around the engine again.

did you just replace the starter? check any power wires you have moved around to make sure they arent sitting on the engine block or exhaust.

Well, I was gonna say ck the fuse links, but you beat me to it.
the most probable cause for that link to cook on your truck
is the ground wire on the side of the block becoming corroded
fixed about a million chevy/gmc 88-92 pickups w/ this exact problem. usually a $150.00 tow bill for a $20.00 fix!
tight lines
