For what it is worth, we just received 2-1/2 inches of rain in less than an hour. It looked like a cow pissing on a flat rock. And I hear it coming down strong again as I'm typing this information in. Yard was flooded and looked like all of it was run off because how fast it came, it had no time to soak in, just run off. We need this around Lexington and Giddings to get the best run off for the Yegua and Nails. There are three Yegua creeks, east, middle and west. Rockdale area might be the east Yegua, but heck I can't remember which one is which, it could be the west. I'm just guessing at this point and I drive by the creek sign often, I just don't read the sign. Just checked my gage and it reads 3 inches. at 1:10 pm.

These are not the final numbers but it appears most of the Yegua Creek/ Lake Somerville watershed received less than 1 inch of rain as the cold front pushed through.

Lake has come .07 inches since I last checked it at 1 pm this afternoon. Saw pictures local people posted of our rain here in Rockdale and the roads were under water, our town was flooded out big time. Give this run off at least 24 hours to reach the Irwin bridge, lets hope it continues to bring the lake level up. Finger crossed. But I am impressed with just the rise in the lake over the past eight hours.

I feel silly now that I think about what I saw in the lake level rise yesterday. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this one out, it came up because the lake received just under 3/4 of an inch of rain. That's where the .07 came from. Since then it has only come up .01. This run off should make its way into the lake by late this afternoon or early tomorrow morning. It takes a good 24 hours for it to reach the Irwin bridge, so time will tell. Maybe I am dreaming big and ready for this white bass action to start taking place as soon as possible. LOL. We all need a break from this epidemic stuff so we can get out of the house and enjoy some fresh clean air. I also spoke to guy who lives in Lexington and he said they received somewhere around 1-1/4 inches. But his gage froze and broke so he was just taking a guess at this.

I just got back from west HC. Pedernales is the lowest it's been in half a decade. Most folks' docks are sitting on dry ground. Last week's rains didn't bring it up much, if at all. Dunno if it rained there yesterday since I'd left at that point but barring 2-3 substantial rains, Reimer's Ranch is unlikely.

However, Pedernales access does exist under Hwy 71 bridge (shhh!) and water is low enough to actually drag a yak down there through the brush and launch off the bank. If levels stay as they are, that would be my best bet.

Thanks for the heads up on this river redqueen. Guess the picture I saw was of a natural hole that always has water in it then. So your information is awesome to read.

Thanks for the good info. I believe the lake needs to come about 10 feet to be where it was last spring. It was low last year, but there was just enough water for a run.

Guess all white bass anglers are looking for some good rains.

It's definitely looking spotty this year. The South San Gabriel looks to be in good shape, so the steps should still be an option. Also, we're supposed to get some more rain on Sunday. Every little bit helps.

I drove over San Gabriel yesterday and there was a slow flow of clear water. As long as Lake Georgetown is low they will continue to hold that water. I thought it would at least look a little muddy due to rain run off, but it is clear. That was at the 29 bridge though, I was driving and really could not look at it when we passed over the river on 95. Sunday they are looking at rain changing over to snow around 2 pm. But you never know about Texas weather.
Somerville continues to rise ever so slowly. It has come up like a 1/4 of an inch, .03 in the last 24 hours.

Never count out the Lampasas either. Doesn't take much in the way of rain to get a run here on one my favorite whitebass holes but you're gonna need some sort of transportation on the water to get up to where the fishes are. On plus note for canoers and kayakers low water years restricts power boat access. The run usually also starts later than most other streams in the area.

At least the number keeps going up on Somerville water level. We received 1/1/4 inches of rain before the five inches of snow yesterday. The ground is soaked and there is a lot of run off going on as the snow melts, but it may take it a little longer to get in creeks though.

Any little bit helps. Seeing some good rain chances for next week too. Keeping the fingers crossed to we have a 3 to 4 inch deluge.

It looks like we have several days of rain next week. If we can get a two to four foot rise on the Yegua, I believe the white bass will be able to come up. I’m 1/4 Native American and I will be doing my best rain dance.
