First time in 3.5 years, 225 gal.. I think I'll refill once a year during the summer from now on when gas is cheaper. How often do you add propane to your tank? How many gallons?

I'm on a plan through Enderby at $1.85 lb...we are on a monthly review and the fill as needed to keep us at 80% capacity in the winter and 50-60% in the summer months.

Man, when I lived at the lake, it was at least every winter...500 gallon tank. The propane furnace loved the stuff, plus we had a propane water heater. Got rid of both and went all electric on the house. Cheaper in the long run.

My house is all propane, moved in 12/24/2019 and have refilled it 3 times so far including the latest just last week. Winter is hard on the propane but probably won't need to fill it again til June or so.

I'll say this, the pier and beam foundation seemed to be better for the summer as far as keeping the house cool...but during the winter, it also kept it COLD! I kept it on 65 usually during the winter...it was too expensive to run that stupid furnace more than that.

Brick is a good insulator.
Slab gets cold, that's why carpet used to be so popular.

Have carpet...love carpet. No brick at the lake house...it's that asbestos siding (built between 1950 and 1965 depending on what part we're talking about). Even then, the guest house is a slab and that one rarely needed the heater.

only have a blue flame wall heater on propane so take the 100 lb tank in about every 30 days in winter and never in the summer. $62.50 to fill. Backup is a 30 lber. No big permanent tank.
