I am on a list for Tarrant Co but I have the feeling it may take some time before they call me to schedule my shot.

One of my clients had to wait 3 days, her husband had to wait 6 days, but her best friend just had to wait overnight. They are 82, 78, and 77. Hopefully you'll get yours soon. My mom is on a couple of waiting lists...waiting to see who calls her first.

Why have I been reading and hearing about folks saying that there is no way they are taking the shot because it has all kinds of bad stuff in it.. Is there any truth to that, been proven yet?

It's an mRNA vaccine. It's new, but mRNA has been used in cancer treatments for about 30 years.

I have no idea what's in it. I'm just skeptical. Humanity still hasn't found a cure for the common cold. Nor is there a cure (yet) for HIV, which has been the boogeyman of diseases almost my entire life. Yet we have a brand-new coronavirus that pops out of the woodwork, nobody seems to know how to deal with it, and there's a vaccine cranked out in less than a year? But then the medical experts and media can't seem to agree on whether the vaccine will actually protect you - if it's effective, then you shouldn't need to wear a mask anymore, right? Moderna, Astra Zeneca, et al, have been making statements that it's unclear how long the vaccine will be effective, nor how they will hold up over the long haul.

Don't get me wrong, I hope that medical science has indeed pulled off some kind of miracle. I just don't want to be one of the guinea pigs.

It's related to SARS. They say they've been working on that vaccine for about 10 years...at least the lady that developed the AstraZeneca one has. They say they don't know if we should continue to wear masks, not for the benefit of those vaccinated, but for those that aren't vaccinated. They aren't certain if those of us that have been vaccinated can inadvertently become asymptomatic carriers, basically. Similar to those that seem to be genetically immune (for lack of a better term) to it....their T-Cells keep them from suffering the effects, but they can be infected and spread it.

I am of the opinion they are more likely to get this one right and did it because with the cold, the flu, HIV/AIDS, they make a boat load of money from therapeutics....why kill the goose that lays the golden egg every year? This thing has darn near destroyed the global economy....they want us working again...plus, that way they can reopen the hospitals for elective surgeries...thus selling more medicines during and after the procedure.
