One of our friends was in their living room in Nolanville Tx on New Years Eve, when they heard a loud sound in the kitchen. About 6 feet away from their couch where they were sitting a bullet had come through the roof and ceiling and hit the floor in their kitchen. She called the police, it turns out someone was reported firing a gun off at new years about a 1/4 mile away from the house. The bullet was identified as a 45 slug. If it had the power to go through the roof and ceiling it could have killed someone if it hit them in the head. this was a populated little neighborhood with about 40 homes all on 1/4 acre. There was fields and woods not far away, why shoot at all? But more why shoot over a housing development?

people are stupid. They forget or don't care that the bullet has to come down somewhere.

Friends and I when we were kids, for fun, would shoot an arrow straight up in the air with a compound bow and then run for cover. When it came back to earth, 3/4's of the arrow would be stuck into the ground. We only did this a few times before we agreed it was not a good idea to play this game.

These kind of people are the ones that have the "not my problem" kind of mentality. Bullet comes down and strikes someone "not my problem". I total your car and I don't have insurance "not my problem". Throw trash on the ground at the park "not my problem". I can't stand these kind of people

The answer to the question "Why," is simply. They are celebrating.
It's not wise, but that is the answer.
Addendum: They also have seen it in the movies, a lot. It looks fun!

It should be noted that in the Democratic/Liberal World the words dumb, stupid, and idiot are not to be used. Instead need to be replaced by words like these. Do not understand, made a mistake, careless, very dangerous, need to me made aware of the danger, should be taught, etc.

1. Was this a trailer without tires on the roof? If so add tires. 2. Why isn't 1/2 the population of the middle east dead from falling bullets?, they let go a full mag of 7.62x39 for no reason at all.

When I lived in East Dallas it was like a war zone at midnight on NY Eve for about an hour. Then one year a little girl was killed in her bed by a falling round. The City passed much stricter ordinances and it started to calm down.

The bullet was shot more horizontally if it came from 1/4 mile away.
