Yep - Been on Youtube TV for 12 months now....Should have done it a long time ago.

Unlimited DVR space and $59.99/month - But I added Redzone so its a little more now.

And having the ability to use it while traveling is awesome....Camping trips and stream the phone to my camper TV.

Mom has the same problem with Dish . They quit carrying Fox 33 and NBC .

I cut the cord years ago .

We lost our nbc and cbs locals several moths ago, cbs is back but no nbc. I have Hulu at my lake house at Fork and like it, probably going to get rid of Dish at home and go with Hulu here at home.

We were hostages of Dish/ Direct TV because of our rural location for years. Then the telephone co-op ran fiber right in front of the house. I couldn't get their equipment back to them fast enough. We have AT&T TV with all programming, and are still nearly $100 a month less than we were with Direct that is including the cost of the internet as well.

I have Dish. The one thing I don't like is having to call and haggle each year to keep price under $100/month. With the kids gone I have one DVR plus receiver at hunting lease. I own that receiver so I deactivate after hunting season. I had Direct when I moved to Rockwall and when I switched to Dish they made it a real pain to cancel. Then after I got Dish set up they called and lowered their rate. I said sorry too late. Neighbor had same experience. Satellite is only way to get TV at lease otherwise I would look at options.

We currently have Direct and a non-smart TV.
Is there a way to get the youtube/netflix on a non-smart TV? We've been talking about getting a new TV and part of that decision is having the option of dumping Direct.

Firestick? Don't know enough about it, but have been trying to research options.

You can get a Roku for around $30. I think it is basically the same thing as a firestick.

I don't know much about Firestick, but I have used Google Cast and Roku. Roku is the better choice for me.

They did same thing to me. I canceled. Dish is your trash to keep. I switched to Roku, since we already had Netflix and Prime Video, decided to try streaming. I did wind up adding ATT TV Now to get the local channels and stuff not available elsewhere like food network, history, amc and a few others. Roku has tons of free options, I cut my bill in half, but now ATT keeps going up so I need to find a way to eliminate them. They are the worst company on earth.

If your TV has an HDMI and a USB port and you have wifi get a Firestick and subscribe to Hulu Live for all your TV watching. Firestick plugs into HDMI port and has a cord that plugs into USB for power.

You can also get Netflix, youtube tv, and any of the other 100's of apps I guess you call them. We watch all our local channels through Hulu just as they come across satellite, cable, over air etc. We've got subscriptions for all kinds of stuff now so I doubt its cheaper, but it certainly can be done on the cheap.

With Hulu you can watch anything just about anywhere if you've got internet. The only thing I've noticed is if you're out of your "local area" you're not going to watch your local news. I think you can even set DVR for home if you're out.
