Hi J - Nice to hear from you on here, small world. You need to change your ID! Saw you paddling that kayak all around Hawkins, slinging big swimbaits all morning then paddling back a few miles across the widest part of the lake into a stiff wind, I think you're qualified to be the Ironman!!

That is amazing!!
I was born in 67 and that boat is now in much better shape than I am.
You really do great work and make me want to find an old boat and bring her back to her glory days!

Beartrap - Can't really answer your question. I bought the boat back in '16 with the trailer. It doesn't have a manufacturer plate on it but it appears to be pretty old, maybe original. Someone did some customization welding for lighting and may have done some wheel work because don't think trailer tires were commonly that large way back. So far haven't done much work on the trailer but had to replace what appeared to be a really old winch and tongue jackstand. Tires were good but I did change out bearings not knowing how old they were. Bought the motor in '18 and started the restoration this year. Plan to work on trailer cosmetics and wiring in next few months. Glad to answer any more questions you might have.

Mike, thanks for the kind words. Several that have seen the boat at the lake have told me the same thing, it made them want to do something like this. That's the main reason I posted this thread to encourage guys to jump in. I've got two other bigger, newer fishing boats in the fleet but have found fishing in this old one in Oct. and Nov. to be a rewarding experience, especially after spending quite a few hours getting it back into shape.

Thanks Sir! That forecast wind shift didn't quite come in on time that morning
