The only time I hear about crappie fishing on LOP is during winter. Is the fishing not good other times of the year ?

I've never fished it , and probably won't, but just curious.

It’s great year round, it’s just that during winter it’s beyond great. Lol

Something else to throw in the mix.... If I'm not mistaken, doesn't LOP have a ban on from December 1st to the end of February?

The 'ban' you're referring to is all crappie up to the legal limit must be kept regardless of size during the months of Dec, Jan & Feb. If your sixth crappie of the day is 4" long, you have to keep it. It also counts towards the daily legal bag. In other words, if you catch a crappie, it can't be put back into the lake - keep it! This is also true of Fork and I think one other lake the last time I checked.
