My first trip to Palestine will be this weekend. I’m staying at Lake Palestine Resort, will be launching my kayak from there. Anyone have recommendations on where to start hunting bass or stripers. TIA

I was there this past Saturday and the fishing was slow.. didn't help that there had been a tournament that day as the parking lot was packed. Caught a couple small ones in the back of Ledbetter.. on spinner baits and spent most of my time there as I've caught more big fish back there and love throwing swimbaits in the pads year round. Hadn't fished there in a while and just wanted to see what it looked like. Only fished a few hours as I got on the water late in the afternoon. Did catch a good catfish on flat sided square bill. Been catching cats on spinnerbaits up against wood in 4 to 8 feet of water on other east Texas lakes as well recently. This cool spell should help. You might want to try heading up the creek at Highsaw, should be pads back there as well. Good luck!

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
