Exactly. And that answers the “you wear a seatbelt, right?” question that is both ridiculous and obviously flawed.

In your mind. Its exactly the same thing.

Right, so issue a citation, just like they do for seat belts and speeding tickets. Zeek already answered explaining the differences between seatbelt laws and mask mandates, but they should be handled via citations.

you can be arrested for driving without a seatbelt. Also, if you give her a ticket and she stays there with no mask on then what? bottom line is (as with all the other BS we see with cops) do as your asked or suffer the results. she chose to fight. she lost. no sympathy.

I am laughing at the idiot recording that said "He's not a real police". Her son said his badge says "Police". She said "that don't mean nothing". There are some dumb people in this world. roflmao

She was not arrested for not wearing a mask. She was arrested for refusing to leave. He did his job. They were the only 2 idiots not wearing a mask.

Exactly. Issue a citation with a summons, and let her argue with a judge. She might win, or she might lose.

If it were a seatbelt, that's what would happen. And folks like me wear a seatbelt as safety equipment to protect ourselves, not because there's a law that says we have to.

No wearing a seatbelt doesn't have the potential to put anyone else at risk.

There's a law, she didn't follow the law, she resisted, she got tased. We've talked about this a hundred time in a hundred different threads. Don't break the law and you wont' have a problem.

The law was put in place by duly elected officials. If you don't like the law you have two choices. 1. Work to have the law changed. 2. Resist and suffer the consequences.

it was not put in place by officials, it was a governors mandate, it carries no weight as law. governors mandate evacuations, do all evacuate? governors issue mandates to impress on people severity, they are not law.

and she was within the law, so was the cop/rent cop. never should have happened and she is about to become wealthy.

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today provided the following updates on Ohio's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

STATEWIDE MASK ORDER

Governor DeWine announced that beginning on Thursday, July 23, at 6:00 p.m., a statewide mask mandate will go into effect for citizens living in all 88 Ohio counties.

"Our preliminary data indicate that the rate of increase in new cases has slowed in the high-risk counties where masks are already mandated, so we are cautiously optimistic that things are heading in the right direction," said Governor DeWine. "We believe that requiring masks statewide will make a significant difference and will be key to making sure other counties do not progress to a higher level of increased spread."

All individuals in Ohio must wear facial coverings in public at all times when:

At an indoor location that is not a residence
Outdoors, but unable to maintain six-foot social distance from people who are not household members
Waiting for, riding, driving, or operating public transportation, such as a taxi, a car service, or a private car used for ride-sharing.
The order only requires those 10 years old or older to wear a mask. Additional exclusions include:

Those with a medical condition or a disability or those communicating with someone with a disability;
Those who are actively exercising or playing sports;
Those who are officiants at religious services;
Those who are actively involved in public safety; or
Those who are actively eating or drinking.
Schools should follow the guidance previously issued pertaining to masks.

But the headlines read:

"Woman arrested, tased for not wearing mask at middle school football game". It got to be true, the media wouldn't lie to me.
roflmao roflmao

I already posted why she was arrested. Just scroll up 3 post from yours.

He is the law! Funny how some on here think its ok for the police to over react if a white person doesn't comply but not ok if a black person doesn't comply.

Double standard. I am not surprised considering the source.

i see it as the governing body of that institution makes the rules. if the rules say wear a mask, then to stay and watch, you have to wear a mask, health issues or not. now if your not following the rules that the school set and your asked to either put a mask on or leave and decide to do neither, now you can be trespassed and law enforcement can escort you out. resist that escort and now your breaking the law. writing a ticket for no mask is useless unless there's a possible city ordinance then it still probably wouldn't hold a lot of weight against the constitution in a higher court of law. then again, it would cost ya out the starfish hole to fight it. dang, dissension decisions

but that's just my guess of course partyon
