Scheduled to have LASIK done next week. What kind of results have you had? Is it worth it?

How long did it take to heal up completely? They told me no swimming, dust, dirt, etc. for a month. Is that about right?

Had mine done in October of 2000. I thought it was crazy high at the time (3,400.00) didn’t take 30 minutes total time. Best money i have ever spent. Now over 60, i need to wear reading glasses for close, but i can still see a golf ball in the air as far as i can hit it. Don’t remember the length of healing time i do remember the smoke clearing by the next morning and putting drops in for the next 6 months. Go have it done, you won’t regret it.

Had it done a year and a half ago. Very happy with the results. Make sure you take an advil or tylenol before you go to the procedure, preferably a PM version. The first night was rough, but after that it isn't bad.

I don’t remember exactly. The first couple of weeks were a ton of eye drops. I think I was back to normal after about 2 months. The technology has gotten better in the last 15 years too.

I had it done in 1999. Think it was about 3k for both eyes. Only had to get reading glasses in the last 3 years. I still have good long distance vision. I used eye drops for about a month and I was good to go after that. Just watch out for dust and other [censored] flying around...use those eye drops if you feel anything in your eyes. You'd be surprised how quickly your eyes will heal up.

Had In 2001. Large corrections. Twice on left eye and 3 times on Right. Best thing I ever did. I am light sensitive and wear sunglasses any time I’m outside (have five different color lenses). The only negative- I am now left eye dominant. Sure makes shooting difficult.

The new techniques they are using is literally an out-patient procedure and you are good to go the next day. You’ll have to wear the dark shades the day of, then the next day you’ll be great with 20/20 or better.

Also, bout $1k an eye nowadays.

Had mine done 4-5 years ago. My regular vision is as good as it ever was with corrective lenses. That's the good part. My eyes are much more sensitive to light/dark than before. I still need eye drops a few times a week. Lastly, my night vision is very poor. I don't know that I would or would not do it again. I think the pros outweigh the cons but you will have to make that decision.

Not really accurate. Cost/technique vary. Most places say they have the latest proprietary machines. Some will push for financing like a car dealership. Go to a few consultations and get a feel for yourself. Graduating last in med school still gets you an MD. Being the most expensive doesn't mean you're the best, either.

It was my personal experience. Sorry if it doesn’t add up for ya.

How old are you that got it done? I'm 68 and wondering if I should try having it done.
