Texan is right. Throw something right after the blow up. I caught a 6 lber one time and my buddy threw a fluke right on top of the blow up and got an 8 lber. It works.

I fished BP again this morning and hooked up on 6 toddlers and a 3.5 on a bone spook. Had probably 5 or so blow up that didn't' eat, then TRIED and failed miserably at throwing a nail weighted T rig senko. Every try was resembled a dead pull golf shot. Man the transition from a spook to a senko is not an easy shot. especially around bushes .
GOD is good!

Whatever I have on deck(always) for a soft plastic. Typically a 7” T-rigged bluefleck Powerworm. Works for a top water “blow-up follow-up” as often as not. 👍

I have tried many baits over the years and have the best success with just a tube bait. I use mostly a Bass Pro Shop Magnum Flipping Tube. I once had a family member with me and we were Frog fishing. He had a blowup on his frog and I immediately reached down and picked up my Tube and tossed it in there. I was explaining to him how you would do this when you get a blowup and the fish misses the bait. As I was explaining I reeled in the slack and noticed my line moving off to the side. I immediately set the hook and brought in about a 3 lb fish. It was awesome because it actually showed him what I was trying to explain.

Texas rigged worm rigged for a slow fall. When I pick up top water I make sure I have that Texas rig ready to cast instantly. Timing is everything..........
