I was in the AT&T building in Dallas. Went down to the deli to get some coffee and saw the first plane hit on the TV in there. Watched the second plane hit and by then most of my office was in the deli watching. They closed the office and sent us all home. Spent the day watching it on TV at the house.

At the bus stop in 6th grade, a kid mentioned something about a plane hitting a tower and i thought he was talking about a movie. 25mins later im sitting in Orchestra class with the TV as we all just watched everything unfold, saw the second plane hit and both towers collapse live. A lot of kids went home that day, i stayed in school since my parents worked but remember really not doing anything all day. The other thing i remember most is no planes in the sky for a few days, we lived in Carrollton so would always see SW planes headed north.

Finishing up morning rounds at Parkland. Will never forget the strength and unity of the American people during that time.

At office when coworker said Airplane hit WTC while in clouds! I yelled there aint no clouds! Its a clear beautiful day in NYC. It still makes me nauseous to watch the impacts and the collapses. Also the jumpers who had no other option! Sad. Bin Laden got a easier way out.

[align:right][/align] 19 years ago when tragedy struck? i was crappie fishin on lake navarro mills Working at Comanche Peak. At the time my oldest son was an Airborne Infantryman with the 82nd Airborne. After the second plane hit, he called me and said that his Battalion, which was the 82nd ready battalion at that time, was sitting on the Tarmac at Pope AFB, awaiting orders to make an airborne assault anywhere in the world. That will put a lump in your throat.

I know exactly where I was. I was a half mile from crossing the bridge to see customers in Mexico. My partner called, where are you? Turn your dumb [censored] around NOW. For once in my life I actually listened.

That day was a blur for me. I was working for a government agency that had a number of potential prime targets and we were scrambling to beef up the security around them. A couple of days after 9/11 we caught a car with several middle eastern males in it taking pictures of one of our facilities. We passed their info along to the FBI but I don't know what, if anything, came of it.

I was in Irvine, CA finishing out my last week at a job. Went down to the hotel dining area and watched the towers on the television during breakfast. As the day progressed, and for the next two weeks, I tried deperately to contact my friend who worked in one of the towers; when I could not make contact I feared the worst. Three weeks later he contact me and let me know that he was at a meeting in the Chrysler Building that morning so he dodged the bullet. Funny how things work out on a terrible day like that.
I will never forget, but I remember telling people that, in five years, many people will forget and that the liberals will be defending the muslims at every turn. Sad to say that I was right.

Thank you for your service Bassnhog! My father wasn't too far behind as a Marine IT specialist he was immediately spun up and wheels in the air the following week. Semper Fi my friend.
I was at work, unloading a receipt from our Mexico facility when our HR team wheeled down TV's and told us to meet in our gathering area. I was floored, devastated, then angry. The first thought on my mind was WHY!?

We were building a marina on lake Lanier. A couple of guys had their radio on and we all stopped and listened to it the rest of the day. I honestly didnt realize the significance of what had happened at the time, I was barely 18. I wont ever forget sitting in that car listening to the news caster talking and then the 2nd plane hitting. We were all in silence
