I think what the Lord does is empowers each individual to perform at their best.

I liked how the Lord went fishing, he just told his disciples to throw your nets in on this side and raise them. Man he would kick butt in fishing tournaments!!! LOL.

He didn't win, so obviously his diety isn't the right one. No need to overcomplicate things.

This was to prove that he could have "fish" aka worldly things if and when he wanted them. He was teaching his apostles that they had bigger "fish" to fry The Lord is in the details of our lives and I do pray several times a day. I am not so sure he cares who wins or looses a fishing tournament nor do I think he would take sides. I think he does bless people with health and safety and keen intellect and physical stamina in any of their righteous endeavors even if they are as trivial as a fishing tournament. He does care very much about who lives the gospel, that is to love God and love your neighbor. Having said that, It makes me happy to hear people express gratitude to our Heavenly Father, I am positive it makes He and his Son happy too. A few drops well spent...

How do you know he is not a Christian? Because he's not a white male? Asia actually has one of the largest growing Christian populations.

He could be Christian Muslim agnostic atheist.

My "Deity" as you put it hung on a cross and died for me. To each their own and what ever faith they practice, but to assume what one person practices or worships based on their nationality is not where we should be as a country. No hard feeling or thoughts on my end just putting in my thoughts as a Japanese/American.

Does that mean he has also cursed innocent kids fighting terrible, painful, and debilitating diseases?

That's the part I struggle with the most, believing he has blessed those with good health, but then what about those suffering at no fault of their own?


I committed to my wife on our wedding day (actually well before that) that I would raise my kids in the church and attend with her. So I do so regularly, and in fact pray often. I pray for answers and guidance, not material things, but often ask myself why do I do it.

Funny thing. Most people, when they see me , wonder what a Native American Indian would do on Sunday. Well....we go to church. Over 100 years ago, we were forced to accept Christianity as our faith. We must have been some nasty heathens.

God does not care who wins or loses what he cares about if is you honor him through it all it.. In all thing do it to the glory of God. Now I miss God's mark often.

IMHO prayer is to develop a relationship with God. If you never interact with your children would you have a relationship?

I just thought it was great that both men have such a strong relationship with the same Lord I serve that they thanked him for the outcome, keeping them safe, allowing them to do what they love to feed their families, etc. We, as believers, are commanded to make disciples of all nations, to worship him, and to me, that was what they were doing. Each person has to decide if he believes and has accepted Him as his savior. But, he also said to not be ashamed. To me, those two men were not ashamed. I know I've prayed for a 5th fish, but I also pray for other competitors, for family, for people I don't know, etc. I know I've had bad situations in my own life, but I'm still here and relatively healthy. I believe God is the reason. To each his own however.
