Sorry, Billy. Yes, gout hurts bad. I’ve had it a couple of times but not in 4 or 5 years now. It usually lasts 5-7 days. Crazy how it comes on slow and goes away slow. I wouldn’t wish gout on my worst enemy. GL

TR 176 is spot on. Google foods high in purines as you want to try to avoid and/or minimize those particular foods. The big three especially here in the hill country are beer, barbecue, and beans. That’ll cause a flareup on a lot of people. If you don’t want to change what you eat or consume you may look into allopurinol prescription from your doctor. Yes I’ve had a few flareups in the last 20 years. It sucks terribly.

I have tried all the home remedies, zero results, Allipurinol will work.

I was diagnosed with gout about 35 years ago. I tried quite a few "home remedies" over the first few years but none of them seemed to really do much for me. It may vary from person to person.

What does work is taking that 300 mg Allopurinol tablet every day. As long as I do that I am flare-up and pain free. Haven't had an issue in 30+ years. And, it's not an expensive med. My copay with Medicare is $2/ month.

I eat salt like they are going to quit making it tomorrow. I better cut it out. I got off of salt a few years back but got back on it.

I need to make a lot of changes, I aint getting any younger.

Drink 16 oz of fox urine every day and you’ll be jumping like a frog on a freeway in a week

Indomethacin 1 every 8 hrs. Dang good stuff (ask for a prescription)

Uloric worked for me the gen is Febuxostat i needed 80 mg they will start you at 40 .
Tell DR you want a steroid shot with a steroid taper fell better in hours.
Or try trip V- Vodka Vicodin Viagra joking.
Good thing about Uloric is you keep taking it if you have an attack
unlike Allopurinol you have to stop taking during attack.

It is absolutely horrible pain and not a laughing matter for sure. Allopurinol is a medicine for high uric acid but once gout hits your big toe it is unbearable. My feet were rebuilt in 2012 and I had gout crystals in the metatarsal ( big toe) joint where the bunion lies so doc had to dig them out. Then I got a gout cyst on the side of a toe which required surgery. Alcohol was not involved for me. It can be inherited just like bunions so beware. Anti- inflammatory medicine may or may not help.

Good lord guys, eat less meat, lots less, drink water.
