The Hobie ProAngler rental at Lake Ray Roberts Marina is broken. I went up there this morning to rent it.
They do have a couple of tandem Hobie pedal kayaks available for rent but I did not bring either of my kids along as ballast.

OP: Well, im pretty swamped at work today and its not looking like I will get to head to the lake. If not, I plan to go Sunday afternoon / evening. I will let you know if I go.

Also, I fully appreciate budgets and the Compass is a very fine kayak. Some prefer the Compass because of budget, some prefer it because of weight. However, if you have any flexibility in budget and/or are willing to sacrifice 20 pounds of weight, the Outback is a really good choice. In my opinion, the Outback is most versital Hobie kayak. Its stable enough to stand and has decent storage, yet its small enough to take on small rivers (and even some light rapids along the way). It also does well offshore (from what I read).

My son has a 2018 Outback (old design) and I'm on my second PA. He wants no part of my PA because it's a tank. The Outback is light enough for him to "jeep top" and drag to remote streams in Northwest Arkansas.

I love the PA because I like the comfort, storage and horizontal rod storage. I'm willing to limit myself to boat ramps and landing gear (and the occasional hard bank). My son is not... you get to do that when you are 20!

Saying this, I prefer my PA because I'm an old fart but I still believe the Outback is a better overall design. Its about $900 more than a Compass, but I believe it will hold its value much better and will be a more comfortable ride in the meantime. As an added bonus, you can keep your gear stocked in the storage compartments. We took our time to fit foam blocks and "marine gooped" them to the backside of the Outbacks front storage bin. This created a front storage compartment that holds almost as much as my PA front storage bin.
