They are priced similar to all the other premium boats.

Ballistic is very much customizable so the guys that buy them typically trick them out pretty well. When you start adding things like lithium batts & charger, 16" graphs, twin poles, 300-400 hp racing motors the price gets up there pretty quickly. These are not your garden variety mass produced bass boats.

As a matter of fact I have never seen one with a 250 on back except for Lee Livesay's rig and he fishes the BASS Elites which limits you to 250 hp.

And for only $15k more you can get it in a carbon fiber layup. Saves about 250#'s

OUCH! I would totally put a 250 on the back of the .204 model. It’s a pretty light boat so it still outta push 75+ easily and I don’t need to go 95+. You really don’t even often have conditions on the water suitable for that speed during tourney days it seems. Cool? Yes!

If you can't find em wind em.

You could put a 200 SHO on it and flash it to a 300 and go 90+ for the same money as a 250.

There's that word again.... "Need"

Many of you have heard me say this:

There ain't nothing about the sport of bass fishing that has anything to do with NEED!!

I think all the flashing has been stopped by the feds.

Some people want to save where they can! Myself I'd put the baddest motor on it I could find cause like you said you're buying a $65K $70K boat close to 100G with motor what's 4 or 5 K more or even $12K when you're in that price range.
The only reason I see for a 250 or less would be tournament restrictions.

Big difference in pricing on 300, 400, & 450R motors. The new 300R is a 4.6L naturally aspirated V8.

It's important to note the 400R is a supercharged inline six cylinder. I predict they will kill this motor within 2 years. Why would they continue to produce a 400 that weighs 670# when they could easily make 400HP from their new 300R with a few mods at 520#?

The 450R is a supercharged 4.6L V8.

My guess is they will crank up the tune on the 300R next year to make it 350 to 400HP in naturally aspirated form. At 300HP it is very lightly stressed. It only requires 87 octane fuel and comes with a 3 year warranty. Want evidence to show a 4.6L V8 can make 400HP without blowing up? There are literally thousands of Ford Mustangs running around with 4.6L V8's making 400HP with no supercharger or turbo on pump gas.

The 450R is also pretty lightly stressed for a "racing" motor. It requires 89 octane fuel and also comes with a 3 year warranty. I predict they will increase the boost on the supercharger so the 450R will make 550 or 600HP. This motor could easily make 600HP reliably and do it for years on 92 octane pump gas.

The OMG-Factor is the 450R is twice the price of the 300R!! OMG

The new NIZPRO superchargers built for the Yam SHO's have upped the ante in the high performance arena. It is a $20K mod but it takes a 200 or 250 Yam SHO to 460+HP. Bear in mind there is no warranty once you do this but the SHO has been out now since 2007 and there are enough of these motors out of warranty that some crazy Go-Fast guys will take this mod into serious consideration. Me for one!

This is yet another reason why I believe Mother Merc will crank up the 450 to 500+HP next year. All it would require would be a simple remapping of the ECU and fuel curve. My sources tell me they have been testing this motor at the 600HP level for a couple years on an offshore CC boat.

Whatever happens it should be interesting!! thumb

Smart guy. Different between a 400 and a 250 ain’t a couple grand. If you have figured out the trick to spending other people’s money on your own gear then I’d love to hear it. Otherwise you outta keep your yap shut when it comes to somebody else’s preferences

Difference between a 200 and 300 is only a couple of grand which is what Rocky suggested. And yes I know what a 400 cost which is cheap comparedto a 450

I had planned to get one last fall because their website kept saying "Coming Fall 2019" (I know it still said that at least until May 2020). I gave up on them late last year and got a Ranger.
