Wiggins said they didn’t let the Anglers vote on whether to have Entry fees. No doubt some guys are fuming.
Free Big O’ !! He’d be a fun read after all this. They didnt vote on them, and they wont vote on them. They will have entry fees for the foreseeable future

He didn’t like it but he understood it because of what is going on in the world.

It’s not fun for 99% of businesses out there, but it’s going to take a lot more to convince me this is anything other than a side effect of the current economic situation. The XFL folded immediately when this virus hit, and football is way more popular and intrenched than bass fishing.

Yeah duck_, hunter But it was that initial spiking of the ball by MLF and all its fan boys a year and a half ago that really got this whole ball spiking thing started.

Had MLF not been so arrogant starting in the fall of 2018, no one or very few would be mocking them now. You can point out that they signed with the idea of entry fee's but the reality is no entry fee was dangled in front of them and lost of exposure. But you could also make a list a mile long of things they have gone back on, and none of us would mock them if their initial message was not so arrogant. It is not even being mentioned that they are raiding a series in FLW that people had to qualify for. Yet outside of a couple like Thrift or Dudley none of the MLF guys in the Super Tourneys even qualified for the trail. They are supposed to be the Varsity of their group and when things got tough they said go play with the junior varsity.
Where they genuinely messed up was how they put their message out there. When you do have such arrogance these things come back and bite you. Keep in mind now that all this comes up about entry fee's it is when their guys can no longer participate in the Central Opens. Tell me that was not carefully calculated ?
Bottom line most would be behind them had they spread their message in a much more humble manor from the get go.

Where they messed up is trying to shove the every fish counts format down the harcore anglers throats, it would have been the format of the future had they gone aobut it right its a better measuring stick but they alienated the tournament guys. Had they gone best 5 catch weigh release for BPT and kept MLF format for the Cup TV special events they would have killed it, they had the star power and the financial backing.

Looks like John Cox chose the Elite event over the FLW event this week. That might affect his chances of qualifying for the BPT.

They didn't alienate tournament guys. Just a few snowflakes that didn't like something different. All my tournament buddies love BPT
