Well not exactly Q they did not want shad today really they did not want much of anything, lots of upper column action but few takers maybe 25 fish today but all big sandies and decent hybrids. We picked them up on GPS location 76 or as 220 and I call it the table it is a 22 foot mid-lake hump that is only about 20x20 feet wide and across and is surrounded by 45 feet of water.
220 did well with Humdingers and I managed a few on RJS Turtles and shad but the bite was really light. The fish are moving around a great deal in no particular order all over the lake it appears the top water may be getting ready to start as they were pushing shad to the surface and into the grass.
The biggest problem for me today was finding small shad, I like to use 2-3 inch shad and all we could get was 4-6 inch beauties.
Nonetheless, it was a super day to fish nice weather and said hello to TFFer Britton. Only a rocket scientist decided he was going to park on the incline of Longhorn ramp and strap down his boat while we loaded ours. Actually he never moved we had to go in the opposite direction.

Hey XYZ, I was the one in the Lone Star CC. This was the first time I have been on Benbrook in several years. My dad lives about 1/2 mile from the Mustang Park boat ramp. I have been reeading on here how good things have been on Benbrook so my son and I ran down after work. It was not too bad, just need to learn a few more spots. I will probably be out more often. I looked at your website and figured out you were who I talked to today. Good seeing you. Randy

just blame it on the storms, can't catch 'em all the time, save some fish for me! Next fishing trip for me is wednesday morning or thursday evening. Tomorrow I have lawn duty and it cannot wait cause the wife is getting mad at the jungle outside.

Good to see you guys out there! I dont know if my trips to Benbrook are jinxed or what. Every time I go out there something happens. The last two trips, I have had a flat on the trailer on the way out there. Each time was on the back tire of the trailer, on opposte sides. Does anyone know what could cause that? Bad Luck Probably. Anyway I got out there(after the tire) and the trolling motor wouldnt work. At least it wasnt very windy.

I wish my boat gas was only 25$ a week. I spent 70$ last week and will spend another 50$ today to get me through this week. I will be headed out at around 6:30 today and will be on the water by 7:00. The wife doesn't know yet but she will right as she walks in the door this evening. What are you doing today bonehead? You going to try to burn off that excess gut or you going fishing? lol I worked on mine today by stumbling 3.1 miles on a jog with a client, now its time to mow the Rainforest, just hope I make it out alive...
Anyone going out today? I will pick up shad to be safe but I noticed that there was lots of surfacing action last week on a few good holes. See you guys out..

If you spraw enough diesel on your lawn you never have to worry about mowing it and fire ants arent a problem.

Bonehead, your buddies that live on my curb have been banished!! They bit one too many people and I gave them the boot. Part of the rainforest has been cut down and I will see you at 6:40. It was soooo much fun cutting through the rainforest but the toro took it with ease. Nothing like a good lawn mower.
