I am sitting on more cash then I have in years. I dumped most of my gold weeks ago and today I got out of the one oil stock I had. I also dumped a loser and low performer. I looked at a few stocks but nothing overly appealing right now. I might buy some more ATT for dividend.

You have to think there is a market correction coming up but since nothing makes sense who the heck knows?

Make sure you keep enough cash to weather the potential storms we see popping up. If you put it in market and we see another big fall you dont want to have to sell low to raise needed cash. That gets real expensive. I'm sitting on a fair amount of cash and will continue to do so till thing get a little more predictable

If this small sample is representative it sounds like a lot of cash is on the sidelines. That is a bullish indicator.

I think you should load up on large cap, blue chip names that pay a good dividend, the so-called dividend aristocrats. That way if the stocks price is in a downturn(and they all do at some point) at least you're getting paid while you wait for it to rebound. Those dividends are free money, why not take it.

I'm not sure free money accurately describes dividends.

Yeah it really is pure free money. Hold the stock more than 365 days and you'll be taxed at a lower rate than regular income as well.
