$10.00 a head may slow them down a little, but when you have no place else to go they will pay it, maybe not happily. nuts
All the lakes are getting hammered, and not just Medina!

You are spot on, and yes the lakes are seeing more traffic than I've ever seen.

“I have turned away more people than I had in the park,” Pct. 2 Commissioner Bobby Harris said. “We are being overwhelmed by people from San Antonio, who have been ordered to stay at home and they are not.”

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” he said. “They’re all coming from San Antonio numbers.”

“It’s a Bandera County park… we can ban non-Bandera County residents, but we’re trying to accommodate. We will no longer sell out-of-county annual passes,”

Wasn't the park donated by a San Antonio bass club?

I've heard that, and it was at one time open with no fee's or gates, and I can't recall who maintained it but I'm guessing the same people who maintained park road 37 as it dead ended in the park. Whether that be the state or the county?
Don't take my word as my memory isn't what it used to be, and I'm too lazy to look it up!
Even in my early youth, Medina wasn't very accessible and the population was pretty much back woods with little access and a lot of gravel roads that weren't very pleasant to drive let alone pull a trailer down it, so any maintenance was more of an after thought by whoever was responsible.
Back then people who lived there and ran businesses welcomed the business as it was seasonal, and mostly weekenders, and were more than glad to see anything that resembled a crowd.
As we used to call them "Beer Joints" where you also bought your bait!

I went down there Sat. to check the water level about 5ish pm. Rangers' truck had the entrance blocked. It was looking as if they were turning away boats and peeps. People certainly need to call ahead or have a plan B. I've heard that Lake Calaveras is over run with folks as well right now on the weekends.

Yes the Bandera County Park is currently closed

Posted a video on my Facebook page as I ventured out for a few hours, but here is a photo of what the Bandera County Park looked like
at 830am on July 4th flag felt so eerie.

The park is due to open on Wednesday July 8th.
