Not happy at all. Decided to go to the lake Sunday afternoon with the wife spend a couple of hours graphing. Pulled into the state parl by the dam. Had my annual pass hanging on my mirror to launch there, heard so many stories of trucks and trailers being broken into and hit at all the other ramps. Was told by the station attendant that if i didn't have a reservation that I couldn't be allowed to the park. I explained that all I wanted to do was to launch my boat. That I had no interst in the park, I wasn't camping or visiting anyone there. That I had an annual pass. Then she gets on her radio and calls two Park Rangers. They show up all pissy and spit shined.I go throw the whole story that all I want to use the ramp, I don't give a rat's butt about ant virus. I'm scared to leave my truck and trailer At the other park ramps, Buck, Jordan, Pond.... Ranger asks why? I tell him about break in damages to trucks trailers the whole story. He said " Thats a lie I do all of the reports that doesn't happen around here".
By this time I'm very unhappy, I didn't curse or threaten them. I tell them " I hope that God will Bless Them" Because I Don't". Ended up going to Jordan Park It was a cluster frick, Ran down the lake to the state park. Tied up to the ramp. Counted 19 trucks and trailers in the parking lot. I'm so proud of how our money is being used by TPW!!! What a joke.

it is not the park rangers call. It is a state deal. They have no control. And he's right about the break ins, it isn't that common. And the state park isn't immune from that problem, it has happened there. Yes there is a lot of traffic in Jordan that don't have boats, for some reason people here freak out about that. 99% of those people are bored because this is a boring town and they are just out riding around. The system is a joke and Jordan is an epic cluster right now on the weekends but it is what we got and we have to deal with it. Better than when they locked the gates.

Again I can understand all that. I just wanted to use the boat ramp. Iget that the park was at it's reduced quota, The dang boat ramp wasn't. 19 trucks and boat trailers in that parking lot. It's a joke.

I too have an annual pass. I drove up to Cleburne state park and got in. This was before the whole close and reopen. Glad to know you have to get a reservation first. Was gonna go to Joe Pool, just drive up and show my pass. Guess I’m gonna be figuring out on line pass using annual pass. Sorry about your inconvenience but you have helped me, and I’m betting others as well. I thank you for that.

It's real simple, make a reservation or go to a satellite ramp. Quit giving the employees a hard time. I've been parking at these ramps for over twenty years and never been broken into. Only been hit at one ramp this year and that was at the state park ramp.

It's how many people enter the gate, not what they do after entering. That's the only way they can stay within the state mandated guidelines. But it's nice to see such a great attitude toward people just doing their jobs.

Bunch of [censored]. Fishermen will need to form an association with some dues that can be used for lobbying and politics or we will keep being treated like serfs. I truly hate being charged $7 to launch a boat at a ramp my tax dollars paid for.
It is an election year, but if you can't contribute big bucks your issues like being locked out of a state park for no reason will go unheard.
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

I’ve had to have a reservation at a nearby state park, and paid a fee. At a COE park, no fee and no reservation required. That said, I don’t know if that’s the case at all COE parks.

I launched at the IDB park last Friday right at 6:00 AM, Drove through the gate at the highway , it was open, gate at the Shack was open and window was closed. Drove on through, forgot to display my pass placard, did not have any note or otherwise evidence that anyone knew or cared. My Nephew showed up at 9:30 to fish with me, he called and said they would not let him in so I met him at Sanger ramp.
Sooooo, I guess if I had been a little later the shack would have been open and I would have been turned back with no appointment.
GOD is good!

I feel your frustration and pain, seems like most people are self quarantined at our N. Tex lakes. PK weekdays is equivalent to weekends of the past. Weekends are a zoo. Couldn't get on boat dock to load boat at N.D&D due to all of the swimmers last weekend. The BRA was nowhere to control the mob and the swimmers would not move.
