[quote=Hookem]23 years ago today, Jarrell was hit by an F5. remember that day. My friend lived at the end of the road where most of the people died. the front of his house was almost destroyed and the back looked like nothing happened.

I thought it would go east of League City looking at the weather app. I didn't bother to put away my Ubrella in the tanning bed in my pool. Wind blew so hard it bent the end of pole and split the last two inches of the pole. Suprised it didn't rip the fitting out of the plaster. I had chairs all over my yard.
We have motorised solar screens that roll up to enclose out outdoor kitchen, supposed to take serious wind. Blue so hard it broke one of the lag bolts into a 8x8 Cedar post. I had to put replace the screw and tighten the rest of them. Thought I was going to get hit by lighting, scared the [censored] out of me. I thought I was back in Oklahoma.
Thanks, Billy

Nice little summer storm. No damage whatsoever, just a downpour.

The Indians called that type of tornado "dead man walking" today they call it a multi-vortex, but if you've ever seen one in person it does kinda look like a person walking. Friends in Alamo Heights said their yard is white as snow from hail. No hail at my place just off County Line Rd in N.B. As far as I know, there has never been a tornado documented in New Braunfels.

JP, when I used to live off 725/Klein it was like the storms hit 35/46 and just fell apart. The ones in SA tonight we're west of that. Never saw hail like this in that area. Stay safe up there, all those track homes turned everything into a floodplain.

Yea it's weird man, we've been here 12 years and had a couple of F1/F2's from S.A. or Kerrville coming directly towards us and then nothing. I've got a degree in Geology and am an amateur storm chaser, and I've never seen storms fall apart like they do when they hit this area. The only thing I can figure is the topography. The town is kinda like a giant bowl shape from the air. Now if you want to talk flash floods, I think I read somewhere we are (Central Texas) the flash flood capitol of the U.S.

Storms just went through the San Antonio Metro area. Lot's of hail damage. Got lucky in our area. Just a lot of lighting and some rain.

Glad you guys are o.k. If my house was five miles more southeast around Kirby it would have been a different story!
