Seems most people I know that have them use them for grilling/baking only

I have an ugly drum smoker and I haven’t cooked on anything that easy before

Good luck with that roflmao

I got my egg in 2007, and yesterday the original gauge sat on 240 for three hours and then the wind got up. Full well knowing what would happen, I went and made a small adjustment on the damper and it settled in at 250 until the ribs were done two hours later.

Disclaimer- I did put a new gasket on it last year, pretty good service I would say. I use it about twice a week year round.

Been going for three hours now. No adjustments and its still sitting at about 240. Its rained a little on it but didn't lose any temperature.

Life is too short to have just one grill/smoker.

Things that are supposed to do everything rarely do them all well.

Amen. I'll stick with my Char Broil infrared grill and my Cookshack electric smoker (had it for over 12 years and it does a great job every time.)

Life is precious. We don’t have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

Some truth to that. A fish and ski boat comes to mind, as well as my friends lathe/mill/drill combo. He is always coming by needing me to help him with something on my Bridgeport.

I bought mine 6 years ago. Still on the original seal and temp gauge. The only accessory I have is a round cast iron piece made for cooking pizza. Never cooked pizza, but I use it to make fajitas, burgers, fried rice, etc. Controlling the temp has never been a problem for me. Today I have two pork loins I'm going to smoke over apple wood. I do use a meat thermometer so I don't have to lift the lid until it is ready.

If you guys haven't seen these chimney tops, they are the best. It's raining pretty good now and temp isn't dropping at all.

I started mine on a Saturday night to do a brisket. Forgot to kill the fire. On Tuesday morning it was at 225 and had thin blue smoke.

This looks like a good deal.
Anyone have one if these?
