Don’t fear the beaver! Deal with a pissed off Beaver when you are fishing it's Dam in a float tube and get back to me..... So you went to the home of the Beaver, starting messing with his crib, put yourself in a completely defensive and defenseless position, and that Beaver gave you a hard time? Well duh! I don't go looking for snake dens and try to fish around them, these sum beaches are coming into my personal space, randomly. I'm trying to give them space. mammals are a lot smarter than snakes. They're just trying to scare you away. Snakes don't have that level of intelligence. I appreciate the actual firearms training tips that I got out of this thread! They are good! I've always been pretty good with a handgun but I'm going to practice and I'm going to take many snakey scalp if they triffle with me. It would be a miracle shot, but I'm going to give it a go.

It wasn't a he..... and weight was probably 40 lb's .... estimate and the tail 6 lbs ... but if you don't fish beaver dams.... you need to expand your horizon sir. Might chew a hole in your Yak.... but better than an ankle.

I don't live on the Missouri circa 1840. Don't see many beaver dambs.

It’s Memorial weekend and Lake Patrol/Police/Game Wardens are out everywhere on public lakes. The probably won’t see the humor in some Yahoo shooting snakes with a BB gun that looks like a .357 Magnum. Make sure you have a couple of open beers on board and tell the authorities you don’t have a license like they do on Live PD. Maybe CCTX could film it for us. Private lake. I'm the law!! My Bad. If you don’t want to spend your Corona Quarantine shooting targets with both eyes open, then you should try .22 rat shot. Does anyone know if rat shot shoots well out of a .22 semi-auto pistol like a Ruger or do you need to shoot it out of a revolver? I was thinking the rat shot might be lighter causing the slide to not recoil properly and eject the shell.

I use it in a .22 semi-auto rifle (10 round mag) and it tends to jam regularly .

The Bond Arms .410 pistols are cool but I wouldn’t want to be shooting one from a kayak. Maybe if I was pond fishing from shore.

Had a Barge for about 4 years on Belton. Would go there Friday night after work and fish all night. Tons of water snakes around, they would swim into my lights to eat shad and minnows. Most of the year, no issues. I didn't bother them they didn't bother me. But every year about this time they would get aggressive for some reason, come right out of the water onto my barge and right at me. This was the only time I ever killed any. Had one come up onto my Kayak also, aggressive, same time of the year. Not sure why. That one was sent on his way with a whack from my paddle. Had neighbor kids that were a little wild, they would jump onto my barge when I was sleeping and then jump back. It was a game for them, but with my military history It really freaked me out. I Layed out 2 dead snakes right where they always jumped onto my barge. Needless to say they never did that again.

Lake Tawakoni had the biggest snakes I have ever seen or used to. Haven't been in several years but had one fall into my old partners boat,it was 20 foot long and as big around as a 55 gal. drum. At least that's how I remember it. Nearly beat a hole in the bottom killing the little bastage.
