Agree. Jerry is spending money like crazy and I love it. Dalton can’t have been a bargain I take back all the negative things I’ve said about Jerry.

$3M.........with incentives could reach $7M. By contrast they were paying Rush a little over $2M.

Excellent move by the Cowboys!
Probably put to bed any idea of Dak and his agent thinking about holding out to force a huge contract.
This probably boosted the power rankings of the Cowboys coming into the season.

Just one more cast!

Why you gotta be that way? You were singing a different tune yesterday at the pool.

I think they signed him not only as a way above average backup, but I believe they think he will help Dak become a better QB. A handful of downs in a game if Dak gets dinged , or goes off for concussion check, AD will keep the ball moving. I love it, the Boys have not had a decent #2 QB in forever. He was under a lot of pressure in Cincy to do too much for a [censored] team the last few years,

GOD is good!

thumb Don't be surprised if he becomes their starter.

Agree, he will compete well with Dak, but the ceiling for Dak is higher.
The big knock on Dalton has been his playoff record (0-6) including two losses to far less skilled Texans teams.

If Dak gets signed I'd be flabbergasted if Dalton beat him out.

AD doesn't have an outstanding record and has known to have choked under the spotlights. I'm not a Dak apologists and recognize he has some shortcomings.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

I don't think Dalton is an upgrade. Good QB and glad they signed him but he is not better in my opinion.

Sighing before Dak ,...maybe Jerry is a better poker player then he's given credit for,...Maybe Dak has to win the starting position,..
Dalton is only 32.... stir

I agree, but with a qualifier. I don't think we have ever seen AD play on a complete offense. He had one great receiver in AJ Green, and that's about it. The Bengals never had a running game to speak of, and their OL was pretty bad. Dalton is a really good passer, and he made even bad receivers look okay. He may just be a great passer if he gets an extra second in the pocket and has 2 or 3 guys on the field running good routes with good hands.

We know exactly how well Dak can play ball. We know how well he can throw to great receivers with plenty of time, and how well he can throw under pressure. Opinions may vary, but I don't think we will ever make a SB with Dak.

I'm not willing to say AD is better than Dak, but I am certainly excited to see the competition. And I am very happy about even the possibility of an upgrade at QB.

I said last week they should sign Dalton, no way to prove it but i believe his won loss record would be within a game of Dak's. No matter what anyone says, Jerry has played his trump card, not going to be any tail wagging the dog around here.
