Several yrs ago I went striper fishing with a friend and guide on Texoma. When we got back he got a bass rod out and hooked a shad for my then 7yr old daughter. He tossed it into the slip next to his and handed her the rod. Immediately she caught a 6 followed by a seven and one close to 8. She probably caught 10 or so. I asked if I could join in and he said nope its only for the little girls. It got her her hooked on bass fishing. He said everyday they are there waiting on him to throw out his left over shad. Amazing to watch. One bass was a legit DD but Riley could never catch him.

I always look for slips that has rod holders mounted. That’s usually a good indication of sunken brush.
