He donated a trip to his place for a fundraiser for the Texas Freshwater Fishery Center and we wound up winning it. It was awesome!

That's really cool!

Mr. Dance will always be #1 in my heart and the knowledge he shared as we grew up only a few miles apart there in West Tenn.. My partner and I had the honor of going to his garage where he an Charles Spence were just getting started with the baits they were building. We came away with 3X more baits than we purchased. I can't say enough about how kind he was, even as a young man just starting a fishing adventure. He learned at a very early age to pull up those chairs and listen closely to your story and this was especially true with the old guys that he hung out with to gain as much knowledge as he could.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

Great story. I like the part about being great friends with Roland and Jimmy, two of his biggest competitors.

Tell me you have some pics from that day!

He didn't appear to have any surprise when we first met but I am sure he was thinking, "What in Tarnation??"

I realized a while back that Addington “winning” a trip somewhere frequently has little do to with luck. wink

That is an AWESOME story and I can’t believe I haven’t heard that one yet. Absolutely hysterical about the spinning rig. I would have like to heard his thoughts when he saw that!

I saw a blooper reel of his once that was really funny.

Great story Ken.
