Awesome story, always been a big fan of his.
How did you land that trip? He donated a trip to his place for a fundraiser for the Texas Freshwater Fishery Center and we wound up winning it. It was awesome!

All I want to do is be you for a week....amazing opportunity. Did he wear his big, tall Tennessee cap? Anyone could recognize him with his hat from 20mi away. He is definitely one of the patriarchs of bass fishing. Thanks for sharing....experience of a lifetime for any bassfisherperson. Tom, you are funny! When CoronaGeddon is over I still owe you lunch! Yes he wore his signature U of Tenn cap.

Great story and liked how you were messing with him on the spinning reel and digging in his tackle box. My brother said years ago when he was on his internship he had to extract a hook from him in an emergency room. Said this guy had a big orange T on his hat and he didn't complain one bit. That's really cool!

Mr. Dance will always be #1 in my heart and the knowledge he shared as we grew up only a few miles apart there in West Tenn.. My partner and I had the honor of going to his garage where he an Charles Spence were just getting started with the baits they were building. We came away with 3X more baits than we purchased. I can't say enough about how kind he was, even as a young man just starting a fishing adventure. He learned at a very early age to pull up those chairs and listen closely to your story and this was especially true with the old guys that he hung out with to gain as much knowledge as he could.

Great story. I like the part about being great friends with Roland and Jimmy, two of his biggest competitors.
Tell me you have some pics from that day!

Great story Ken....my only question is what was the look on his face when you first spoke to him and he heard the Korean cowboy come out?!?!?!?!? He didn't appear to have any surprise when we first met but I am sure he was thinking, "What in Tarnation??"

Awesome story, always been a big fan of his.
How did you land that trip? He donated a trip to his place for a fundraiser for the Texas Freshwater Fishery Center and we wound up winning it. It was awesome! I realized a while back that Addington “winning” a trip somewhere frequently has little do to with luck. That is an AWESOME story and I can’t believe I haven’t heard that one yet. Absolutely hysterical about the spinning rig. I would have like to heard his thoughts when he saw that! I saw a blooper reel of his once that was really funny. Great story Ken.
