Just curious. Does anyone on the forum know someone that has actually had Covid? If so, did they recover? If they did not recover did they have underlying health issues prior to contracting the virus?

In Tarrant county there are about 800 confirmed cases in about 20 deaths. There are approximately 2 million people in Tarrant county.

Like I said before I hate to see Bass Tournament Fishing be “messed with” by the state if he draws attention to it.

But I am not gonna judge him for it.

And the Home Depot being essential.....sure it is but only open essential sections. Like Chris b said shut down the flower section and the traffic will be half.

I bought oil and filters from my local NAPA flag and just changed oil on my truck. It was essential, now I'm about to go to my local gas station (no flag of India) and get an essential case of beer.

Seems more like you’re trying to just use the Numbers to feel like someone is trying to strip your liberties instead of keep A bad situation from getting worse. It does suck. And I guess anything can be justified. The email I got from media said this weekend by the way, April 18.

No. Those models and death projections were put in place WITH the shelter in place orders and social distancing guidelines INCLUDED.

Exactly, and within the span of a week, the models were drastically revised from 2.2 million US deaths to 60k or less across the country. 2.2 million to 60k!

And no, it's not because the US is World Champs at social distancing and did it so much better than they could have predicted. That is a HUGE error from people "in the know," and played a direct role in the most full scale, government forced shutdown of our economy we have ever seen.

I don't actually know anyone but on THF there is a guy and his family that got it. The kids recovered very quickly, the wife took awhile longer, and him.....well he remained asymptomatic through the whole thing.

Personally it isn’t worth taking the chance. It would probably be fine, but I have to make decisions based on the best interest of my family. Call me crazy, stupid, giving up my rights, etc. The wife and kids take 1st priority so I need to limit my trips out and around potential contaminated people. Heck, my fishing partner and I haven’t been fishing together or around each other in a month. Sucks too since our entry fees are paid for this year. Coach

So your answer is no, you don’t know anyone that has had it, correct?

The RIGHT thing for Media to do is to make what is in his control safe. What else can he do. If a person can’t make it from point “a” to point “b” safely, that’s on that person. Not media.

Our small club has not missed a tourney yet. 3 times a week. Nobody in our group is sick. We pay, go to our starting spot, fish till it’s time to stop, load up. He texts us when it’s our turn to weigh in. One person takes the fish. There is no contact other than money. It’s safe enough.

I’d MUCH rather take my chances on a boat ramp than at Walmart.

Nothing wrong with making a personal decision that’s best for you, and nobody here would call you crazy or stupid or giving up your rights for doing that.

Tillman, I’m sure plenty of workers need to pay their bills and going stir crazy. Don’t think they can break rules anymore than Media. And Shoe Dave I’ve wondered sane thing! I’m like who really has this other than numbers popping up on media. But then Joe Diffey died and I was sad.

I salute your personal decision. I really do.

It’s kind of beating a dead horse now. But in response to pic above, as my op said it’s not the fishing that hurts or is dangerous. That’s 100% OK. It’s the sending 50-60 teams out, and all their interacting they’ll do off the water on their way to and from the tournament. And like the point a first responder made on here it gives the opportunities to put an unneeded stress on police fire and paramedics if someone were to get an accident on the way to the tournament etc.
Fishing is not the problem.
