I stole a pack of gum about the age of 5. My dad found out I did it back at the car. He whooped me in the parking lot and then made me go in and return it to the store clerk. Then he whooped me in front of the store clerk because he didn't want him to think I didn't get a whooping.

I was 3. I stole a pack of Wrigley's gum from Buddy's supermarket in NRH. I asked Mom if I could have it and she said no. I guess I thought she'd say yes later, or something. I took it out of my pocket when we were in the car and she made me go inside and apologize to every person and every employee in that store. I cried...and then we went home and I got a beating from my father. I don't steal.
