Suspected that, when a Doctor reported a week ago about coronavirus hanging in the air from joggers on a jogging trail and that each jogger behind the other picked up the breathed in and out droplets multiple times.

Now their saying worldwide coronavirus doubled in 7 days, so 2 million cases by next Thursday 4/9/20. That's about what I would guess. Without social distancing it seems to double about every 3 days. With social distancing every 7-10 days. Aside from the US, India is the country I'm watching. Once that place blows up, all bets are off.

57 million people die annually, so currently this makes up .0009 of the annual death toll from everything

So currently .0001 has it....... Yes sir. Unless you've got a dead relative most folks are not too worried about what it is today. They are worried about what it will be if nothing is done. So put .0001 in a spread sheet. Then in the cell below that multiple .001 by 1.33, which is how fast it grows without intervention. Then click the bottom right corner of that cell and drag it down. That'll multiple each previous day by 1.33. You'll find that we would reach global herd immunity with 70% of the entire worlds population having the virus in just 39 days. Then multiple the worlds population by 70%. Then multiple that number by the death rate of your choice. If you pick 1% that would be 52 million. But really we know it would be higher than that because the hospitals would get swamped. So we'd probably be talking 3 to 10 times that number. That many dead people bothers some people.

And for you isolationist types what are you gonna do if after 2 months of lock down, social distancing, masks, handwashing etc in a place like New York the numbers are still rising? At what point do you say that isnt working.

I'm just posting the real numbers as they stand today J. The facts. the facts are 16509 cases that have come to conclusion in the US and 6098 have died. So if you are tested positive you have a 36% chance of dying... do the math

At what point do you say that isnt working. I wouldn't say I'm an isolationist type. I'd say I'm a slow it down so we can try to buy scientists time and avoid overwhelming the hospitals type. Since we don't know if the scientist will come through or not, our next best option is getting to herd immunity as fast as we can without overloading hospitals. If somehow our hospitals had infinite capacity I'd be a let it rip type as I think the death rate is 1% or less under ideal circumstances. This dang thing just seems to spread so fast we know it'll overwhelm hospitals. Hence the need to pump the breaks. Virtually every country on the planet is doing the same thing and trying. It would be interesting to see if some country chose to just let it rip. To my knowledge nobody has chose that route.

So if you are tested positive you have a 36% chance of dying... do the math How many of those that died were 90+ years old, that smoked for 70+ years with COPD or some other existing condition where catching the regular flu would have killed them? How many cases have gone undiagnosed and the person recovered? The only thing the numbers your are touting do is spread a false narrative.
