I feel the same way. But got an email the other day saying the tournament is still a go. Just dont think thats very smart at all.
With that area now on shelter in place there can’t be tournaments until that is lifted. Logistically there is no way to hold a traditional tournament. Maybe they do a MLF type format with pictures and special markers sent secretly to contestants via mail to verify pictures were taken the day of the event. Take measurements and weights and send with pictures. Or ......They could just do it online like NASCAR.......I also say they should let the fans do the online thing against NASCAR drivers. Fans pay in, time trial to qualify to race in the field against their heros. Just want 1% if any of y’all take idea......lol

I dont think you could manage it with one the size of Legends. But club and jackpot tournaments would be no problem

The fact you have to explain why you had to cancel the tournament is very alarming... I really do not understand the attitude of people in this climate. IT's NOT about YOU! It's about making sure everyone else that cannot fend off the virus is safe.
I just got off the phone with a client of mine. He told me he had to break into his best friend's house because he did not reply for days to his texts and calls. His friend is dead. Now, they suspect corona virus but it is not confirmed ...yet. That being said, if we can prevent this from happening to others until a vaccine is made, then we are doing our part.
While I understand will not be "gone" it is still our duty to do what the DR's are saying. I am just really tired of the self-centered, individuals that will not abide by this.
This is not pointed on anyone on this forum...it's just a pent up frustration. I guess seeing your post having to explain why you did what was right got to me.
Stay safe! most deaths are being classified as Covid-19 deaths, the death numbers need to be high to justify the gross overreaction

Douglas, I'm going to have to disagree with you brother. From what I hear from friends that work in the hospitals in SW Louisiana and in Houston, I think it is just the opposite. I strongly believe the # of Covid-19 cases and deaths related to it are considerable more than is being reported because those folks never got tested and got an official diagnosis.
In almost any other case, I would agree with you about the media and politicians overreacting to issues for ratings or political gain. But I don't think that's the case for this issue.

Bruce, there will always be naysayers but in the end, as the leader of your group you have to do the right thing for your members. Will there be some that question your judgement? Always, but I made the same call with RHBC and got nothing but positive feedback and it was appreciated. This is the main thing. You don't need to press your luck and have a friend get seriously ill or worse. The lake will be there and so will the fish. Stay healthy and safe everyone.

bruce there are apps you can use, you take a pic and use a specific measuring stick... I can find that info for you if you cant find it.. there are nationwide tourneys using the app and boards.

The following link is an article from an associate professor of epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins University. He explains what we can most likely expect from this virus in the future ..if it in fact does spread throughout the majority of our society. Very interesting! Please read to the end. https://www.washingtonpost.com/outl...6-6485-11ea-acca-80c22bbee96f_story.html

I doubt that this virus is even at its worst in the North Texas area yet. My Son is a Paramedic First Responder in Garland. He told me this morning that they have about 50 firefighters out sick and one hospitalized, and he is young with no underlying medical conditions;. So far, my Son has managed to escape it, but he is exposed every shift.
Fishing tournaments can wait. It's bad that it has come to this, but it beats being sick or dead.
