Hop is right. Talked with my banker yesterday. It will be proctored by your bank for the SBA. Average last year's payroll monthly and multiply by 2. same with rent, and utilities and a few other overhead items. You can get up to that amount. If you use it for that same purpose, and don't lay-off more than 25%, debt will be forgiven. That portion that is not used for such can be re-paid at 4% over the next 10 years. Unfortunately, we will definitely take advantage of it. There are several other options available within the SBA, but the one described above is the most use able for most small business. Hope we don't need it all, and it gets us to the other side. Times like none of us have ever seen. That's what I'm being told as well but multiply by 2.5 times and the first payment can be delayed for as long as one year. Your previous workforce needs to be back in place by June 30th (so I guess that's the cutoff to spend the money by?) and anyone making over $100K can't be counted in the amount. There's a large Zoom meeting this afternoon between my lender and the SBA and they will know more regarding the specifics and the actual application to use. He said to be on guard because there might be some type of catch and to just save every type of proof of payment during this period. He's forwarding the details to our CPA, who does our payroll and many others in the community, so that they are more able to provide the information we need. Like you others, I'll post more as I find out. I would love to be able to bring everyone back on April 21st with the help of this type of a loan and if our dental governing board will allow it. Fingers crossed. J When you say previous work force the same number of people, not necessarily the same people?

shouldn't matter as long as your workforce is about the same. never heard them say specifically they had to be the same people that were laid off. check with the loan officer for clarification.

I doubt they want to get into the personnel business so I bet it's regarding totals and not specific people. Just a guess though.

Talked to my banker this morning, He was waiting webinar to start, He did not have the federally required forms in hand yet.
If I get two months payroll , rent and utilities , that is a chunk of money. I will believe it when I have in my hot little hand.
I wonder if will we be required to keep the money for 10 years or can we pay it back early with no penalty ?

MO use it for the stated purposes and it is a grant, no payback necessary. banker should lay it out for you.

Not saying I wouldn't, but hard to think there are no strings attached to this.

You can go to the SBA and fill out the paperwork for this online.

You can go to the SBA and fill out the paperwork for this online. Not from what I'm finding. If you go to the SBA you have to pay back the whole amount. You can only get the PPP from a bank and that's the one that is 2 months of salary and expenses forgiven.

I think hop is on point with this from my understanding. It happens right there at the bank, and immediately.

They told me they aren’t going to even qualify you to see your creditworthiness because it’s federally guaranteed.

When you fill out the info on the SBA website it refers all the info to your bank and even takes your account information for deposit. The PPP does not have to be paid back as long as the money is used within the guidelines listed. The other loan available covers a broader range of things but has to be paid back at 3.5 or 3.75%, I forget which.... It looks like the bank then finishes the process.
