I installed it and placed it where the old transducer was. The old transducer really never had any interference with it but it operated at a lower frequency.

Also, I didn't notice anywhere in the instructions that said to install it on the right side but I'm noticing all of the pics I found on Hummingbird's website and on youtube that basically everyone installs on the right side. N00b mistake haha.

Did the old transducer stick down that far below the bottom of the boat? (That doesn't affect operation at idle, but may on plane.) If you look back there when on plane you may see one heck of a rooster tail, and you're probably going to rip it off sooner rather than later. Are you seeing interference on downscan view only? ...when operating at idle or even just drifting? You haven't said if you have made any sensitivity adjustments or not, or if this is your first sonar unit. They aren't as much of a "just turn it on and use it" accessory as some might think.
