Did I do it wrong? I am like Ironman and sure of myself but second guess everything.

Good on you, you have someone who is at risk in your care, you are just protecting them. thumb

A friend's daughter is an Engineer at a manufacturing plant. One of the big volume items they make are trash bags.

They have been declared essential. Makes sense if you think about it.

My manufacturer just retooled to make face shield masks. We're not going to be closing.

That’s going to happen to a lot of places that didn’t already have a good take out/drive thru business

None of the traditional restaurants near me, and there’s a lot of them, are doing much business

Absolutely zero casual dining, dine in oriented places can survive on take out. The ones that are staying open are doing so to keep people working and as a service and doing so based on cash reserves we have to do that. Essentially zero profit, I figure I'm gonna pay my key people as long as I can so why not work them .. that's the mind set of alot

Bob, I would certainly think Power Transmission counts as essential.

I found out this morning that my business is essential. I guess that is because we provide flooring for hospitals.

Best of both worlds for me - I'm considered essential so we get to keep our jobs, but boss is allowing work from home as much as possible, which will probably be 3-4 days a week for me. Very blessed right now.

Ma never thought about that. That's got to be a rough job

Is that going on, or going to happen?

For now, here in Louisiana, non essential business will be closing as of 5:00 p.m. today, and there will be no enforcement of it by anyone. The presser from the Governor stated he hopes people will follow the direction and it won't need enforcement.

"Edwards said this order does not restrict travel from parish to parish or even across state lines. Also, no police checkpoints will be erected, enforcement will mostly rely on the goodwill of citizens."

But Edwards urged Louisiana residents to comply or officials could consider mandating stops. "If the people of Louisiana are demanding that we enforce this order before they honor it, we're in deep trouble," he said.

New Orleans is a hot mess right now, you couldn't pay me any amount to go there. They're working hard to release all non violent criminals from the jails,, the homeless have no where to go, and with all the out of work people plus kids out of school, they're gonna have some bad times ahead. I can't imagine what the LEOs there are experiencing.

Coming back from Fourchon yesterday we took a longer route to avoid New Orleans and the causeway.

It happening here and for the guys tasked with doing it I can tell its not easy at all. Hard to tell something trying to earn a living that they can't earn a living indefinitely.

I received a document today via email from my CEO. It is to be carried by me when doing my job and if I'm confronted, flash the doc. This enables me to maintain normal work patterns during this global outbreak because our company has been deemed a critical infrastructure due to being a part of the food and agriculture sector. But what customer really wants to see me? I sure don't care to see any of them.....I think I'll hold out and just fish a little more.
