Yep. I would love to find a big mess of poke greens.

I’m really not sure if I’ve ever read anything more redneck sounding than this on here roflmao

Turnips surely weren't really meant to be eaten.

worked part of one summer for a green giant pea cannery....that was in 1957 and I ain't eat an English pea since....
second on my list would be dried butter beans...my mother used to cook liver, onions and dried butterbeans and make us eat them....I ate my last liver/onions/butterbeans about the same time I quit eating English peas...

I like almost all veggies, I guess khale would be my least favorite. You guys who do not like brussels sprouts try chopping them up, add some chopped onions, olive oil, salt and pepper, strir fry in a hot skillet, pretty tasty. Also I have a buddy who deep fries them, he said they are great that way.

Almost any that are cooked especially Brussel sprouts. They are gag material. Mom use to make them and one sister was only one that liked them. Only ones I cook are onions, peppers, and taters

I used to agree with you till I ate some that had been cut in half, roasted cut side up with olive oil and seasoning on them. Somehow cutting them in half changes the smell and taste. I can't stand cauliflower.

Kattelyn, I have picked bushels of Poke Salad over the years. My Mom would para boil it twice draining the water off each time. Then she would put some bacon grease in a cast iron skillet and fry the poke. Just before it was as tender as she wanted she would add a couple of eggs and scramble them in with it. We ate a lot of it in the spring.

Used to dislike Brussels sprouts, but if done correctly (blackened/sautéed) they are delicious

I’d never had Brussel sprouts until I got married. We have them with almost every home cooked meal. We just put some oil in a pan, put either shredded or chopped sprouts, garlic powder, salt and paprika, then stir fry. Love them. I’m gonna need to try your way.

Cauliflower is good in shrimp , crab , and crawfish boils it soaks up all the spicy juices and it’s the bomb . Other than that it’s completely flavorless
