Is that a catfish or a bullhead? Bullhead spread really easy.

I have seen the same thing with bluegill, shad, and bass. That was a nice fish.

It could be a bullhead.... they had been dead awhile and the catfish was rotting and breaking down

I feel your pain.
I have had two fish in my pond over 24" long in the last month that bald eagles have eaten. I was really pumped when the eagles showed up, but I didn't think they would be eating monster bass. Greg Grimes manages my pond and says that he has shocked over 5000 ponds and has never seen a pond with the bream population that mine has, so I thought for sure that they were just eating bream.

I was pretty heartbroken when I drove up to my pond and spooked a bald eagle eaten something and when I walked up to see what it was, it was a 25" bass. I have no idea what it weighed because there wasn't much left of it.
