Agree. This could actually end up saving lives in the US. People that change behavior that would otherwise have caught the flu will stay healthy. Key to limiting morbidity will be tight restrictions on access to nursing homes and other elder resident spots and quick action to isolate patients when infection happens.

Allegedly the " Big Deal " is that we apparently don't have the antibodies for this particular strain so it hits us hard in the lungs . As another member said it can cause Arterial leakage which is one of the ways sepsis can hurt us so badly . With arterial leakage and losing the elasticity of the arteries / blood vessels your body can't maintain blood flow to your organs and once they get oxygen starved they shut down .
The thing that bugs me the most is the lack of solid information being released to the public for fear of panicking the Herds .

I just read where 27,000 people died from the flu last year. When the coronavirus gets to half of that, then I'll start worrying. I think the amount of deaths in the US is up to 22. I think I have awhile.
