Who would any of them be without having been involved with BASS? Just another guy who goes into a tackle company and pledges to spend x amount per year if they will give them a patch to sew onto their ego shirts.

Seriously, how did they get the title of professional, and best in the world in the first place... who afforded them that pedestal? Take the pedestal away and they joe become just an average joe wannabe.

Let’s celebrate BASS having a great tournament instead of promoting negativity.

Dude, you need to go see a therapist about this. This ceaseless obsession you have with hero worshiping an organization is not normal.

If Lebron James quits the NBA and goes to play in Europe, he is still one of the best basketball players on the planet.

I think it’s just as exciting as it has been. Regardless of the pros name’s, I like the format and the money on the line. I also like to go to local tournaments and watch their weigh in too.

guy posted this on another forum and it's a pretty good description of the progress MLF has made and what the future looks like especially with the growing fan base being created by the popularity explosion of high school/college bass fishing..

""Seriously how out of touch with reality is "five bass guy". Duckett is a unbelievable businessman no matter what we all think of him as a person. He now has 9 BPT tournaments and 5 MLF cups. He sells six 2 hour shows PER TOURNAMENT and MLF CUP event to Discovery, Outdoors, and Stortsman's channel and 1 hour block to CBS. He sells all his catalog of shows (done over the years) to My Outdoors TV streaming service. And he picks up another half hour segment on Outdoor Channel and My Outdoors for All Angles. He locked all the best anglers into a two year contract which was easy because BASS is the worst place to work. WHAT ARE THEY DOING WITH ALL THE MONEY!!!! OH that's right he he walked into FLW corporate office and bought them out and then to satisfy demand for his product he (under pressure for more content) introduced a new tournament Heavy Hitters and threw in a 750K purse for 30 anglers. There might be signing bonuses next year. Or Boyd could just quit and spend his time under a palm tree for the rest of his life.""

Let’s keep this on the topic of the Classic and not a bash-fest between the competing tours.

Not a big deal....
Example...
How many BMC threads have there been on here leading up to this week this year compare to years past?
I am on here more than ever before, and I didn't know the date of the classic. I guess it is today.

To win a championship that no one knows about or cares, perhaps... but what is it that made him thought of as being the best in people’s minds? Was it the platform and stage provided by the NBA or just him running his mouth on the city street basket ball courts? Some might remember his name, but his greatness would quickly fade.

The lemmings who jumped off the platform and stage that made them what they are today are quickly being forgotten about as just another angler who passed through. Contrast that to iconic anglers like Roland Martin, Bill Dance, Jerry McKinnis, Jimmy Houston, etc... that will never be forgotten because they never really left the stage and that platform that gave them that renowned recognition.

Funny how who ever posted that got their facts wrong.. Boyd is just a lapdog yes man to the one who is calling the shots and reaping the rewards. MLF isn’t selling a catalog of shows to anyone but themselves in the grand scheme of things.

BASS pros are definitely winning.

The last 17 Classic Champions are all fishing MLF. This isn't a zero sum game. Everyone is winning, including the fans.

Although, it will be intriguing to see how some of the MLF pros react to not being able to fish the Classic this year. Regardless of the field, it is still THE event in bass fishing.

You cannot tell me this one is the "same" with all of those guys not in it. I like BASS and the format. I like FLW and MLF as well. True, someone will win and deposit the winner's check- but they did not beat the best in the world to get it.

Those 17 “ best in the world” pros are on the outside looking in and will remain on the outside for the remainder of their careers. That’s the price they will pay for being lemmings. 2 of them got smart before the door closed, the rest of them have already been forgotten about and none will be remembered as legends like many who came before them that have much more class and integrity. KVD who? Is he there making an appearance for his sponsors? Skeet who?

The future of the industry is currently participating in the most prominent event of the year... those 17 “best in the world” lemmings are stuck reciting ra-ra cheerleader talking points about how their purse snatching organization is the best while regretting every minute of it. Where is that 2020 Redcrest that was supposed to make the classic look like a traveling parking lot carnival, according to what the lemming leader stated in 2019? Oh yeah, they are having one because the org they got snookered into joining snatched the purse. The only one within who recognized it for what it was is Ike... The rest, to much of a coward to speak out.

Pick a new topic. This one has played out.
