Fishing has been viciously amazing in the morning. Limits of Hybrid being caught and stringers of white bass on 1/4 ounce jighead with flukes. Crappie are biting good at night in the slack water behind the wall. Tight lines

What are the limits on the river? I've fished at Denison dam, is it similar fishing?

you will not catch striper below lavon dam like you would at Denison dam...prob not near as many arguments as Denison on the wall either..you can keep 25 sandbass over 10 inches and throw back all the hybrids for me to catch another day.lol

Lavon Dam is FUN when they are releasing water indeed. I have caught some BIG fish in there from buffs, gar, hybrids, whites and crappie. The gar are a lot of fun.

I was there 2 hours ago just watching, lots of people, 8 kayaks and canoes on far side. 2 gates are open and the fishing was steady with both hybrids and sandies being caught. There were quite a few line tangles happening as well.

Saw about 20 cars parked outside of Dam..and another 10 parked on side road under rail road track. Hey, I guess it’s worth the risk of getting citied.

I would be more worried about catching COVID-19 than about getting any citation. The area below the dam is closed for a reason - to keep people separated. I've seen it shoulder to shoulder at times..

I was out driving around yesterday morning, the gate was opened and people were fishing below the dam again.
They weren't catching very much, the platform was closed off so you can only fish off the rocks.

Went to the Lavon spillway on Tuesday around 4-5 just to observe. Lots of undersized fish being caught and retained. Lots of trash (like *bags* of trash) just being left along the shore, people completely ignoring the "no trespassing" signs and crossing over the dam. Complete [censored] show. Out of the 100 anglers I observed there was literally two who knew what the hell they were doing. Lots of parents letting their toddlers run across the steep and rocky shore with violet and rapid water movement below. No spacing between anglers along the shore. I say close it down completely or manage it responsibly.

wow that looks amazing. haven't seen the dam open like that in a very long time. i assume weighted cork and flukes will work in those types of conditions

The railroad bridge at 78 was hot this afternoon! Just as I was pulling away, game warden pulled up. I’m guessing a few folks scattered out of there right quick. Had some guys net fishing too.

am I missing something?.. isn't there I sign saying that cyour not suppose to be down there?.. did you take those pics from your drone or are you clearly down there with the trespassers?!

I was out looking around yesterday, the gates are either closed or turned way down.
Passed over the river on 78 no water movement, there were people there but not as many as usual.
I drove down the road from 78 to the dam, not many cars parked on the road and yes, the road leading to the dam is closed

The parking has been closed due to covid, but you were still able to fish down there from the rocks down and down the creek that it flows to. I actually spoke to the lake manager when I was down there. I parked on the road and walked down. I believe it’s closed now due to all the trash people left and they are doing construction down there
