It was a grind both days. First day we caught only 12 but mostly females, second day we caught 24 and majority were males. The ramp at River Ridge I believe is not usable because both Jane and Tom were using McFadden. After all this rain the bite should be good as long as the river is not out of its bank. Met the Game Warden Mr. Rayburn - SUPER NICE GUY!!!! If you see him on the river, Thank him for his service. Hope this information helps - Good luck to everybody!

Nice catches ! In the 4th picture is that what i've always known as a Grinle fish ? First time i ever saw one was back in the 60's at lake Winnsboro over at Taylors Little Horn baitshop . Some guy had caught two and left them on a fish chain at the boat dock . Biggest darn things i ever saw !! I thought they were some kind of bass but was told they were Grinles .

River Ridge update. Yes our ramp is open. We were at McFadden because it was shorter to our fishing spot and much easier ride for our customers. It was cold and rainy. That being said, we caught limits a couple days. Was excited because they had kicked in then we got rain. Up 12 feet in the last 36 hours. We started launching at our high water ramp today. Canceled trips today and tomorrow so we can locate fish and get back on them. I did get my website updated today. www,riverridgetx.com. If you want to see pics you can go there. It is wet, wet, and some more wet!,,, we will be out catching fish tomorrow.. Good luck and be safe!,,,,

23.5' on the Beckville gauge right now. looks like it's cresting about there. Hopefully it'll drop a bit by the time we get there late next week.

Where is the McFadden ramp located? Is the ramp good when the water is this high? I am familiar with the River Ridge ramp. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/02/full-101890-39578-sabine_1.jpg) My son and I went this weekend, we launched at McFadden and went up river. The McFadden Ramp is at the end of County Road 438. Not sure at what level it becomes unusable. I imagine it isn't a viable option right now though. River is at 23.4' on the Beckville gauge.

Has anyone put in at the public boat ramp at the 2517 bridge after all the rain from last week? Planning a trip for this Saturday ( 2-22) and was hoping the river was not too high. I know we are expected to get more rain during the middle of the week so hopefully not flood rains...thanks for any input

Got back from our trip out there last night. Went ahed and blew off any attempt this morning and came on home. Spent Friday downstream of Jane's in the morning, then up to Murval in the afternoon. Saturday we fished from the ramp at 2517, up 6-mile, and then all the way down to just above Murval. We went to the back of hill lake on 6-mile, about 2miles back into Socogee looking for some clear water, into Murval a little ways, and a few other smaller feeders. Hit many sandbars and just about any place that looked like it might be holding a fish. 3 people in the boat, and we did not boat a single fish. My boat has several new battle scars from being back in the creeks, it was an adventure.
The best report we got was 6 fish in one boat, a first hand report of 4, and a whole lot of nothings. I'm pretty decent at finding those fish over a wide range of conditions and it was a humbling trip.
The water is now as high as I've aver attempted to fish it. Lots of debris blowing down the river. Whole trees in some cases, but lots of stuff to tear up a boat if you're not paying attention for just a few seconds. Current swift enough to get you in trouble if you're not experienced at navigating moving water.
If there was one good thing about it, we saw quite a bit of wildlife. With the river being up to and out of the banks you can see across land, not just the banks like anything significantly lower.
If you must go, then Jane's high water ramp is good, as was 2517 when we left. We used both.
Also be aware, the ants are piled up on driftwood and on trees. Not good to discover that by mistake. We saw several decent colonies of them over a few days.
I'm going to wait til the river comes down and make another attempt at it, hopefully within a couple weeks.

Do any of you launch off of highway 43? We discharge into the river and I figured fishing around our discharge would be pretty good. It’s warm water. I’m a crappie fisherman, I enjoy catching white bass but hate eating them. Just seeing if anyone fishes around that area. We usually white bass fish the big cypress.
