Does the stages (tournaments) seem anticlimactic to you . When it’s over there’s know suspense or crowds to cheer !! Just a boring ending to me . I somewhat agree. The MLF format has the excitement spread across hours where the traditional five fish format has everyone on an island throughout the day and saves the suspense for the end. What I like to see is how they make decisions under pressure and MLF really highlights that.

I see both points. It does seem like they are robbed a little. Look at Jeff Sprauge’s interview. He said he had to hide winning from his friends and family until it aired. That’s kinda weird however you slice it. Win but don’t say a word to anyone! Then the next year they can see pictures of you holding a trophy in your boat by yourself. I still really don’t get the whole thing honestly. Lol At same time was more entertaining with the 2lb min. Jury still out for me.

Ain’t nothin’ like “high fivin’” the guy that’s been hawk eyeing you and giving you penalties all day. Sure beats the cheering fans and family being there.

When the Lee brothers have to get in to an octagon with the lane brothers I'll tune in MLF again. Until then fouz can keep hitting refresh on his monitor several times a day and they can pretend they are getting my views.

I’m not sure I really understand what you’re saying, but nobody has to be quiet about who won these days. The link below has yesterday’s results, it was shown live online, and there are nine different threads here about the event. Watch out you know we aren’t allowed to talk about this stuff because we aren’t “pros”. But I have said from the get go that you can’t tell me the long time BASS guys don’t miss going across a stage having thousands screaming. You are in a boat with a cameraman and judge what fun is that.... none lol. Tap the brakes....getting paid is fun. The Mercer hype machine is great for the crowd and the sponsors like the plugs but do the fisherman have a preference? Do they care 'how' they weigh in as long as it's fair, transparent, and consistent?
Grateful for every sunrise and sunset I get to witness. - Jason

You don’t get it... to those running MLF, the live fans and infrastructure to support an attendance are an expense, and it can be a big one at that if they want to try and keep fans engaged and interested. But that’s not in the MLF groups interest; They are more about selling advertising space to companies, and the less expense involved the better. They are on a big push to make all things digital and use fancy terms made up by data analytics people to sell to clueless sponsorship executives and what their ROI can be. What these clueless people who buy sponsorship spots and advertising space don’t truly understand is how manipulated the data used to sell and set rates to them is. Here is a little intro into the amount of fraud that those who sell sponsorship and advertising are engaged in.

Duck Hunter...the MLF cup Sprague just won. That you just heard about Sunday it Monday. He won that months ago, and couldn’t say a word to family or friends. Had to keep it a secret. Also if you look at the pics it’s just him by himself standing in his boat holding the trophy like I just posted. Other than that I was saying I pretty much don’t get it either because why did that have to be kept quiet, but we are saying yesterday‘s results from that tournament. Hence my other comment I don’t understand the whole MLF thing right now.

Palatka If you ask the MLF’rs... that’s not what sponsors want and they don’t view the live attendance as any longer being valuable to their brands.. it’s all about the clicks and views these days... never mind that they have no real and honest way of measuring those clicks and views.... but that doesn’t matter, they can come out and say 500k people viewed our brands logo, or whatever because jo blow at acme data analysis that sold us the ad space gave us a print out of the traffic during the event... so the sponsors don’t really care if there are crowds anymore - according to the MLF advertising experts.

The thing I just can't seem to understand is why does every conversation about MLF or BASS end up trying to compare the two? I watched and loved the Live coverage I watched on MLF this week. I also liked the BASS tourney I had recorded on my DVR months ago that I watched last weekend. I didn't watch either of them thinking how they compared to the other.

The thing is you’re referring to the made for TV MLF(Challenge Cup and Summit Cup). The BPT is very much different. It is the actual tour competing with BASS. You can watch that live every step of the way. I don’t know that they even advertise where the made for TV series is being filmed.
