The best (GOAT)... Is it KVD or Roland Martin, or ...? Such a debate on it. If you notice though, none of the older anglers will give it to KVD. They always say Clunn or Martin.

Sorry Grout-Scout but I think I qualify as one of the older anglers (66 years old that still watches 8 track videos of fishing shows like Bassmaster I taped back in the 70's) and grew up watching Rick Clunn, Larry Nixon, Guido Hibdon, Tom Mann and others but even though they grew up with a lot less technology and equipment I think KVD pretty much is the best fisherman of them all. I personally always respected Rick Clunn and even have more admiration for what he has done lately at his age I feel like KVD has been the best.

Kvd had a slow year or two in BASS and everybody was saying the same stuff. It's one year.
Now if he goes 3 and MLF has to cut bait that could be awkward.

I could be totally wrong, but I don't think he is at his best with this style and for some reason I get the feeling he may not be as happy as he was.Kinda like G-Man.And I'll go ahead and say it "that was not a bash against the MLF".Just one mans opion, right or wrong. He used to do pretty good in the MLF events, but those were much smaller groups of anglers. Either way, he’s not leaving MLF since he is an owner. His reputation will be tarnished if he ends up at the bottom over & over. (At least in my opinion) KVD who? Oh, that guy... he was one of the lemming leaders. His reputation is already tarnished. His legacy is damaged beyond repair and because of such, he won’t be honored nor remembered as one of the legendary anglers of BASS. He gets what he deserves for getting in bed with B. Duckett. I dont typically comment on the stupidity of your posts, but do you also believe Michael Jordan's legacy is ruined because he is an owner in the Charlotte Hornets.

No, a more close comparison would be Pete Rose. A guy that had a hellava record and stats, but betrayed his team and industry, now to be forever shunned. Deservingly so.

It'd be hard for me to have the drive with that kinda check he's cashing in on each year. He probably has way more commitments out side of tournaments than most guys. He's the goat and always will be. If thrift can win a few more championships he'd begin to be in the discussion

I just can’t imagine why he would have ever left BASS . Because he was tired of fishing for his own money.

Have a tournament were smallies are the target and you are putting him in a comfort zone while the others get uncomfortable. Except maybe Martens.

What more is there for him? That’s pretty impressive and ordinarily that kind of accomplishment would place him amongst the few legends in the industry. Too bad what he will be most remembered for by most is being one of the primary B. Duckett shills to help him sell a bill of goods to a bunch of fellow anglers. Again, I equate him to someone like Pete Rose; betrayed his fellow peers and the industry that brought him all the fame and fortune. What’s typical in this day and age, is that is the type of thing that’s rewarded by the media powerhouses. So yeah, he’ll be alright. Pete Rose being an example again, where he has been a long time commentator on MLB types of TV broadcasts; and cable news is chock full of handsomely paid commentators who are just like him, long time ago disgraced & corrupt crooks.
