I take you guys don’t know how to make your own on a Lowrance?

I have zero problem doing so but if I’m spending 3k plus in a graph then it should come with the best stuff. So Birds it was to solve my problem. Even Lowrance is aware of it cause they were told by several yesterday at weigh in to fix there base mapping to compete with others better

You’re using basemaps? Navionics + South is pretty dang good. $200. The basemaps in Carbons is weak,’but I didn’t know anyone actually used them.

Borrow a Lakemaster south card and a hummingbird. U will see the difference. Lowrance has a great product and I’ll run them at a great discount only.

They’ll always be behind garmin because garmin is letting them use the technology. There’s a reason it looks like panoptics.

What he said! Made the change after riding with three Lowrance Pro who the minute they were out of camera sight, out came the bird. Why? Simple one word answer: MAPS![/b][b][b][/b]! Been a happy bird owner ever since.

$3K on a graph isn't really top money...so let's not pretend you're spending a bunch of money. My buddy Jeff just bought a 36ft Twin Vee with dual 24inch Simrad displays and a 3k Airmar. $12K per display, not counting the cost of the Airmar, which can see a fart bubble from a fish at 2500 feet. I own a Lowrance HDS Live 9 because that's what I could afford...however I don't pretend it's the top of the line...and it is in the exact same class as Garmin or Hummingbird. Similar to buying a truck, everybody has their preferences and each vendor offers something unique. A LOT of people look at the small shiny object rather than the bigger picture...how will you use the technology, and how will it work with the other electronics you own, like your engine, radio, radar, trolling motor etc.

I can't wait till they come out with just the computer module and I can buy my own monitors. So when something new comes in I can just upgrade the unit or the monitors, where ever the innovation is.

Maybe they'll be super-duper freakingly ultra HD.

What are you talking about? I have helix g3n with si and di then still had to buy an expensive lakemaster chip. The unit didn't come with a base map! And it was 2500 bucks!

I have a Helix 7 Sonar/GPS. I have a Navionics card though. Will the Navionics card work in the Helix? I wanna see what I obviously didn’t see the first time.
