Was spending a lot of time graphing today, looking for new brush piles. Then I saw them. Bass so big they made shadows on my side scan. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/01/full-93588-37117-341527e2_c9a4_47b0_b637_cf8047b79766.jpeg) So....I spun around and grabbed a c rig from my rod box and started chunkin. Caught three of them and broke one off, before I guess they wised up and got outta there. Seldom do I get to see them stacked up like this and then actually catch them. Of course I never had images like this until I added the Active Imaging 3-1 to the Carbons. Just thought I share what they looked like. I was so amazed, I stopped to take a picture of the screen. Ha

Very impressive!! I won't lie I'd have seen that and just said "prob catfish" and kept going. Nothing like positive reinforcement with "seeing = catching!!!!"

That's cool , did the fish you caught return the same spot ? Supposedly when fish are "packed" up like that and you catch and release they return and disperse a chemical that causes the others to "shutdown " .

Ha Nice. You fish Lake Waxahachie from time to time right? How is that lake?

Supposedly when fish are "packed" up like that and you catch and release they return and disperse a chemical that causes the others to "shutdown " . I’m not sure if they returned to the same spot or not. I shut down the boat and spot locked really quickly. I then took the picture of the graph before it scrolled off the display. I was casting around 90-95ft from the back of the boat. I would get bit around 70-80ft from the boat. Caught 3 in about 10 casts. Including breaking off one. These fish averaged around 4-1/2 pounds. The break off fish felt stronger, but I also didn’t retie like I should have. Then.....nothing. Made about 15 more casts....nothing. Fired up the boat and rescanned the area and saw absolutely nothing afterwards. Blank lake bottom.

That was from Waxahachie.
It’s been slow...the reason for graphing. I like to cruise around from time to time to see what’s new. This was on a do-nothing bank with a little hump on it from a nearby point. The lake depth was slowly tapering down to around 15 ft. If I didn’t see this on the graph, I would have never thrown a bait in that area. It has no structure, other than deeper water close by, absolutely NO COVER, and no bait close by. Just 8-10 big old bass clustered around in small groups. Nothing special in my opinion. But they were there nonetheless.

That is awesome. I tell myself to spend time searching, and learning to use my electronics better every time I go fishing. I end up chunking and winding and giving up on putting in the time to learn how to do just what you did. My biggest problem is marking the spot and getting the boat back into a position to fish for them.
great job King Of Cool!
GOD is good!
